  1. I'm still taking a shower every morning. Since I've set up my office in my dining room next to a large window, I'm hoping to notice a fit guy with a bubble butt walking his dog at the time I suddenly need to check the mailbox. You never know when the chance encounter turns into something more.
  2. Thinking about this some more, I'm less surprised that it is only the Miami team that has the high number of cases, based on stats coming out of Southern Florida lately. As such, I'm not yet in the boat thinking that the season is in real jeopardy. However, if this had been another franchise, such as St. Louis, then I'd begin to wonder.
  3. On the plus side, I've never heard of someone forgetting why they quitted a bad relationship. If it was something important, such as insisting that Cher had no talent, you would remember.
  4. When I worked in the dairy department, we would notice that customers would leave a dozen of eggs with one cracked on the shelf. We were trained to consolidate replace cracked eggs to eventually create on carton containing a dozen cracked eggs. The cashiers also checked the eggs and if one was cracked, the sacker would run back to the dairy and bring back a good dozen. After that practice, I always check the carton when I take it from the shelf.
  5. I know someone that is choosing to wear both at work. She wears glasses that steam up when a mask is worn. So the shield is worn in lieu of glasses, providing just enough vision correction to be able to the do the job.
  6. This afternoon I've been watching the Braves/Mets game. It seems a couple of times, they have not returned from the commercials before play resumes. I wonder if the lack of on-site television crews is letting the game play at a more natural pace? I've also noticed that the absence of fans means no need to stop and wave to the crowd during the walk up music. Of course, this is just one game, but so far it feels good to have a little faster tempo.
  7. Without going in person, how does one get a free lunch on Saturday by visiting all of the sample stations?
  8. So while not quite the same as going to Stock Bar or Swinging Richards, I have long wanted to attend this annual fundraiser event in NYC and maybe 2021 will be the year. This year it will be done virtually on August 1 and I will plan to watch. https://www.broadway.com/buzz/199642/broadway-bares-goes-virtual-with-zoom-in-event-on-august-1/
  9. I would have told him that then his clientele isn't really all that exclusive!
  10. I've known of a couple of houses where individuals died due to events at the house that had to be disclosed to potential buyers. (One was a double murder, the other a firefighter died in the line of duty.) In both cases, the new buyers were not bothered by these facts. The only concern both buyers ever voiced was the impact on future resale and the length of time it may take to find a buyer not concerned about the history.
  11. I don't know whether he is republican or not, but I know from personal experience, he is not a repressed homosexual.
  12. I think several folks change careers all the time. Actors sell real estate, bankers become carpenters, musicians support themselves by preparing tax returns, Magic Johnson owned some Starbucks stores, and my former porn-crush Blake Harper is a nurse. I rarely care about a person's unrelated career; I focus on his qualifications for the services I'm seeking.
  13. My apologies, as that was not my intent. I was simply responding to the question I was asked in reply to my original post in the thread. That post I believe was on topic.
  14. We were the first jury under the court's social distancing practices. Jury box had been partitioned off so that we each had our own 'box' with a chair and divider between each of us and the two rows. From about shoulders up the partitions were Plexiglas. There were no sidebars in the typical sense, as the sidebars couldn't be done with social distancing. As such, the prosecution, defense, and judge left the room to be able to remain 6 ft. separate and have the sidebar conversation. Jurors were not required to wear masks; however, 12 of the 14 jurors did wear them. I took mine off when I needed my glasses to see exhibits that were projected across the room. A couple of others removed them most of the time we were seated. All court staff also had them on when moving around; however, as the testimony was being given, they were usually removed as everyone was at least 10 feet apart. In the jury room, we each had a designated spot where we remained other than to use the restroom. After the first day, many of us got comfortable removing our masks in the jury room as it was difficult to hear folks seated across the room with the masks on. Overall, the court was well-prepared to support social distancing.
  15. I just completed four days of jury duty. As such, I did my first dining out (I've been doing pick up or delivery once or twice a week all along) since March. It was a very different experience, but it was also at restaurants that I would not normally eat as the courthouse was not near my usual hangouts.

  18. I don't understand why the original pride flag didn't already cover everyone.
  19. I have trips planned in July (FL), August (IN) and September (CA.) Hopefully they will all still take place.
  20. I braved the Columbus casino last weekend - day two of its reopening. Masks were required at all table games and as soon as someone left the table the pit boss was sanitizing it to make it available for another player. We could hold our cards at games that typically would allow it. Only three people allowed at each table, but since there was no wait, it was a moot point. Masks were not required at the slot machines and about half of the guests were wearing them. I may go back this weekend and see if things are more lively. Let me know when you want to venture to the Midwest.
  21. One of my neighbors is collecting items for the local food pantry. Since most of my groceries are perishables, I ran to the store tonight to pick up items on the "needed" list. The difference in the Giant Eagle I shopped at tonight vs. the Meijer I've been primarily using during the pandemic has me stumped. The vibe at the Meijer has pretty much returned to pre-COVID levels: energetic customers and employees, well-lit, and fairly busy. The vibe at Giant Eagle is much different that pre-COVID: eerily quiet, few customers, (but employee friendliness was still strong.) I'm chalking it up in part to the good reviews I'm hearing about the Giant Eagle pick up and delivery service in comparison to Meijer.
  22. Who needs labels these days? Just be Biff and Baller until something naturally evolves to describe your relationship.
  23. I think we are due for some luck. It's got to happen!!!!
  24. I've talked to Josh a couple of times trying to connect. The conversations have been great and I hope to schedule time with him in the future. We were to meet this spring right around the time my employers' travel restrictions were being introduced and we had to cancel.
