I think this subject was addressed a few years ago.
I'm guessing a "frozen" ad means that the escort is taking some time off - frozen profiles were prevalent during the pandemic. This is different than an "expired/deactivated" profile - even though I've "Chatted" online with at least one "expired/deactivate" provider whose ad continues to run on the Rentmen website (even though his telephone number is no longer visible on his profile) - but he continues to welcome my inquiries if I text him. It's a bit confusing (and there's no info on the RM "FAQ" page) - I'd just go ahead and text the "frozen" escort as I suspect that, even if doesn't respond, you'll have your answer.

Normally I'd assume it's frozen for a reason and wait for it to unfreeze. Given that you've seen him twice before and have his number, I might text him to let him know you're interested in meeting up; I'd put *something* in the text like "Hope all is well" or "Hope you're doing okay".

I had a job interview, and I got the vibe the boss was a complete b!tch.
She sent me an email with a return receipt on it and I purposely refused to send a response. It's an immediate flag for a controlling micromanager.
The next phone call, sure enough, she called that out and said she expected to know exactly when her employees read her email.
I told her good luck, and mentioned that as a financial expert, she should know that when hiring skilled software engineer help, she was on the wrong side of the supply and demand curve.

Yep, I paid for the phone & I pay for the monthly service. Therefore, I decide what settings to use as well as when (or whether) to respond to a text, voicemail or call.

Why do you care if they know that you have read their message.  The non response is a response.  If I text someone and it said they have read it, I am adult enough to know that they may have other more pressing issues.  If they have not read it, especially in the middle of a conversation, I think that perhaps the message did not get through and will repeat it in a reasonable amount of time. That amount of time is determined by the nature of the conversation.
If I am asleep or otherwise occupied, I prefer that the person texting me know that rather than pursuing other communication. So if I have not read the message, they have an idea that I may have something other than my phone in my life.
If it is urgent, I assume they would go old school and actually call.

The  problem is, if one of those 8 contacts calls you during sex, and you had do not disturb on.... more so if you have an apple watch and you pick up by accident.

I didn’t mean to suggest I have it on all the time. I turn it on/off hour at a time or so…and overnight I have it on all night. I have a list of a about 8-10 friends/family whose phone calls/text break through the do not disturb…for emergencies.

I have mixed feelings about this.  I would be interested to know the reason behind having it on all the time. I think I'm burned by an acquaintance who is difficult to make plans with but always notifications off/do not disturb mode..
I also don't have Read Receipts on...  I want privacy and peace of mind.

Mine are always off, but I also don't use my personal phone # as well. Even in my day to day life I don't have it on, because I will respond when I can.  I always respond to every messages right when I can no matter what. So being left on read is never an issue when it comes to me. The only thing I've ever had as issue with when it comes to some clients is on Rentmen. As I've had people who don't speak, but request pictures, and then leave me on read.  A lot of people may know not that Rentmen messages all have read receipts, so it tells me if every- time with those to check marks if someone has left me on read. Those little (✔️✔️)

So @JockdudeP, you didn't want an answer to your question. You just wanted someone to agree with you about wanting Read Receipts on. Got it.

Read Receipt feature is one of the best things about iPhones.

I prefer my clients, friends, family etc to have iPhones for the transparency of knowing they’ve read my message.   When I meet anyone new, including a client, and they have read receipts turned off, I immediately ask for them to turn them on.

Having read receipts on teaches & trains accountability (to oneself) to be respectful and answer in a timely manner.

Personally, I always have my read receipts kept on as standard for everyone.

Even if they're not doing a weekend, I've seen with guys who get 50-75 messages/day - triage rules their responses.
The last guy I saw in New Orleans was visiting and - because quality providers in NOLA are scarce - he averaged two clients/day for a month.
Between prep time, appointment time, and recovery time, that's a long day by itself...and then there's little things like eating and sleeping...triage.

My feeling is that if you don't want escorts responding to other people when they're with you, give them time.
Assume they're on a weekend call and will get back to you when they can.
Truth of course, is that they're probably not, and could respond when they have a minute, but this isn't life or death.
If you need an answer timely, I'd suggest letting them know, and maybe they could find a way to respond.
  18. Thanks
JockdudeP reacted to + PhileasFogg in iMessages-Read Receipts not turned on
Mine are only turned on for select people.  My view for the escorts is that they get a lot of texts.   What if they open one, don’t have time to reply…then you’re wondering why they’re not replying when in may simply be they have other pressing matters.
if we are in the middle of a trip where logistics matter, I may simply ask that they turn it on, or even in some cases, that they share location while we are traveling.

The only person I've ever allowed to receive a read receipt from me was my boss (the owner of the company).  And I'm retired now so no one gets them.  None of their business.

Anyone who has Read Receipts off are people who like having peace and not having people who are socially needy pestering them about "omg why haven't you responded yet? I see you read my message!"
Read Receipts is one of the worst things that's ever happened to texting/messaging lol.

I’m not an escort, but I don’t have read receipts turned on for my personal iMessages- I think it’s an invasion of privacy to have them turned on, plus (for example) if I accidentally click on a message without reading it, it would look like I’m intentionally ignoring it.
