Same here. I like as well then that I can tell the provider in my first message to check out my page for all my stats and information. Saves a lot of time right there. I think I'd only go straight to a regular phone text if I wanted a same day appt.

I always make the first contact through RM. For a few providers that is the only way I have ever contacted them. I don't find that communication method any different to text.

I had to laugh at the one that would not provide a phone number but demanded both a picture and a deposit.  I got blocked when I said no.
Hmmmmmm.....any bets that this guy was neither in the same city nor the same country as me?

Twice I saw that a provider had no way to contact him on rentmen.eu, but contact via RM Messenger was available on rent.men. Also, one provider who does not list his phone number told me that after the initial contact by RM Messenger and once an appointment is made, he shares his number.

Overall, I haven't noticed a huge difference but it's only been a few guys. A couple never responded, but the ones who did moved us to text within a few messages. 

It’s also a tactic used by poor providers to prevent clients from leaving negative reviews by blocking them at the end of the session. .

I understand the frustrations that were expressed in these posts. However, forcing the initial contacts through RM messaging is an effective tool to screen out “time wasters”. 

Only time I tried contacting a guy like that on RentMen, he cancelled last minute. On this forum, I heard he did the same to another. Was just playing around.

When a provider makes it difficult to contact according to the typical ways, it disinclines me to contact them at all. It’s almost a red flag. What are they so worried about? (Spare me the list. I know the risks etc.) If they can’t handle the eventuality of dealing with unpleasantness or other issues around this enterprise, then I’m not interested in investing in them. There’s already enough hassle without added hoops to satisfy whatever reasons a provider has for complicating communication.

I do it to be polite.
I assume that some providers have a day-job...and other appointments already booked..

If they're truly flexible, you can then throw out various dates and expect them to pick one that works best.
I don't see the issue here.
