Yeah, I had this happen with two Chicago guys several weeks ago. The mistake I made was asking Guy 1 for a blessing to see Guy 2 which he took as asking for permission. He was instantly offended and said he wanted to think about it. After two weeks of silence, I approached Guy 2 directly, explaining the back story. Ultimately Guy 1 gave permission and we planned a weekend trip. During the trip, Guy 2 suggested that Guy 1 was furious with me. So I tried to clear the air reaching out to Guy 1. He replied with the most histrionic, gaslighting, accusing tirade by text that one could imagine. There’s a much longer story here - and I’ve subsequently learned some things about Guy 1 - but it’s a shame - Guy 2 is a prince (and better than Guy 1 in so many levels) But I will not do anything more to come between or create conflict for them. Guy 2 will have to figure out the unhealthy relationship dynamic on his own. But to avoid making issues for him, I’ve been silent since the tirade and moved on and had outstanding encounters with new guys. Ironically, I have reason to believe that Guy 1 moved to poison my well with some other guys - but that’s on him.

I understand. And to be clear, I continually assert that every party in these encounters warrants respect and should be respectable to each other. What you’ve described is an occupational hazard that IMO can be managed but not eliminated.

Not all ads are clear and articulate. And many are static. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve responded to one - in the manner instructed - only to find out that the provider “really didn’t mean it” or “wasn’t on top of maintaining the ad” So, the criticism cuts both ways. Now, as to calling a potential client an idiot, it might just be better to block them to try and connect dots that make no sense. If they really are an idiot, do you really want to meet?

New Orleans (my closest market) is a magnet for hustlers and meth heads. Couple that with preferring twink profiles and pickings are thin (except for a couple of exceptions like FTM AngelaGabe) unless there’s an occasional traveler. For instance, let’s say the escort is underaged, trafficked, or that something happened that lacked consent - rape, robbery, etc Paying a lot for someone’s time isn’t a crime - otherwise my attorney and accountant would be advising me from jail on visiting day. I think that the devil is in the details of what the exchange of compensation is tied to. Unless there’s more to this than you’ve described, I don’t think that law enforcement is concerned with past consensual activities because misdemeanor offenses typically have short statutes of limitation - say 1-2 years. But, I’m not a lawyer…

I was horrified when my dad gave me his Rolex - opting instead to wear a $12 timex. Why did he do that? The Rolex is a self winding watch. Wearing the Rolex 24/7 he didn’t move enough to keep it wound. It was quite sad. I couldn’t wear it while he was alive…it felt wrong…and now, I don’t wear watches and it’s in a safe.

What you’re describing is more of a traditional BFE with mutuality that starts way in advance of the encounter with communication and building of anticipation. Repeating what @GLEEasked, but also setting expectation that this is not a commodity - either for the type of provider or the experience - and may be a more costly endeavor.

@jusmeinbr...interestingly, I had my own encounter with him. I'm not surprised since we clearly like similar profiles and I was certain he'd be on your radar too. Provided cell # by PM, his first text to me was "hey" like I was a sniffies hookup - that left me a bit concerned that he didn't have the communicative insight to know how to differentiate from spam. We did try to set up a time but the logistics just weren't going to work getting to my coastal wasteland. That's not his fault, he tried, but as I backed off, the price seemed to jump all over the place. I felt as though he'd not really priced an overnight before, but my sense was that he expected his hourly rate times x hours but that tended to soften within a few minutes. In the end, I feared planning something would not go off smoothly and I cut bait. Based on your experience, I'm glad I did. I kinda felt like I'd have been disappointed just based on communication style and logistics. I can't really say anything bad except that it just felt "off" and that maybe I contributed to that as well. Maybe all would have been perfect in a different place and time.

@jmkblnd1, unless you have a reason to doubt what he says, I think your heart will tell you whether you can accept his words at face value or not. There’s hook up, there’s sex, there’s connection, and then there’s commitment. I come back to who he comes home to at night. But, this might be a good time to be thinking about a pre-nup in case your heart leads you the wrong way. If he doesn’t want to be supported, there’s not a good objection. But the trade off is that he gets to choose how he makes money.
