    Rhubarb and Ginger Compote
Serve chilled by itself, or with lightly sweetened whipped cream, ricotta cheese or softened mascarpone cheese. Ingredients
Servings: 4 1 pound fresh rhubarb 1-inch piece peeled ginger root, cut crosswise into 1/4-inch slices 1/3 cup to 1/2 cup sugar, or to taste 1/2 cup ginger wine, ginger beer, unsweetened apple cider or water 2 strips lemon peel (no white pith) Directions
    Step 1
Wash the rhubarb and discard any leafy tops. Cut the rhubarb stalks into 1-inch slices.
    Step 2
Combine the rhubarb, ginger, sugar to taste, and one of the following—ginger wine, ginger beer, apple cider or water— and the lemon peel in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir and cover. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the rhubarb is tender but not falling apart. Take care to stir the compote occasionally, or it may boil over.
    Step 3
Uncover and cool to room temperature. Discard the lemon peel, if desired. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate until well chilled before serving.

I just finished Season 2 of Industry - less explicit (especially for the men) than Season 1, more girl-on-girl action, but also a romance between two male characters.  It also had one of the best lines I've heard in a long time: "Sadly my looks have declined to the point that only women will sleep with me", spoken by the character Jesse Bloom.

Theatre producers are very alert to the fact that "commuter" theatregoers (those who live beyond NYC in other parts of NY or in NJ/CT) have simply not returned to their pre-pandemic theatregoing habits. Moreover, the periodic surveys that they're constantly sending out have confirmed that those theatregoers are less inclined to choose a show that has a later start time or longer running time that will require them to take a later train/bus.

So they're not only thinking about NYers or tourists, but also those dreaded bridge/tunnel/burb-dwellers (like me) who have historically made up a substantial subset of the regular ticket-buying audience...

As for me, I love a 7/730 curtain as much as I love an 8pm curtain. I also love an 830pm curtain and a 5pm curtain. I love a 2pm matinee as much as I love a 1pm or a 3pm matinee -- whether on Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday or even Thursday. I just wish there was a theatre listing service that allowed you to sort the available options by curtain-time...

High prices for A-list performers are nothing new.  It's the norm, especially when you consider what they're being paid weekly.
The business of theater is one of very slim margins.  I can't blame them for charging what the market will bear.
TDF and TKTS are alternatives to higher prices.  And then, as mentioned here already, you have off-broadway, off off-broadway and fringe.

The bigger issue I have with midtown shows is the state of the audience.  They're a fucking nightmare.  Tiresome, egocentric, stupid, drunk and loud.

leeper reacted to + BOZO T CLOWN in GAIETY THEATER - GONE 20 YEARS...... RIP
Today is St. Patrick's Day. Normally a day to drink and celebrate.  For the former patrons of the Gaiety Theatre, comme moi, March 17th is a sad day ☹️.
The Gaiety Theatre closed its doors for the final time on March 17th, 2005. Twenty years ago. And yes, it really does seem like yesterday.
"The G" as it was known to regular patrons like Bozo, was a victim of: the Disneyfication of Times Square, Giuliani zoning laws, and the advent of new technology which brought about sites like Grindr, Rentboy, etc. which, for many, made a trip to Times Square obsolete.
From a personal standpoint, Bozo spent his formative years as a young clown - a good deal of his adolescence - at the famed strip club on West 46th street and Broadway, between the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and Howard Johnson's Restaurant (the best clam strips in town!).
When the G was shut down by NYC authorities, never to return... Bozo shed a few tears. There will never be anything like it again.
Thanks so much to Denise and her sisters for providing us with so much joy and entertainment, and thanks to all of the boys (especially the Canadians) who danced there for the 27 years of the Gaiety's existence, and gave Bozo and others so much pleasure.
The theater may have closed, but the memories will remain forever.

Sebastian Stan has been a favorite of mine for a while.  He was in a TV miniseries "Political Animals" where he played the gay son of a former first lady, now Secretary of State, played by Sigourney Weaver.  He had an extended nude scene in the movie "Monday".  He was also in the 2012 revival of the play "Picnic" on Broadway.

So yesterday,   I received notification that it had been a year since I first joined the group here on "Company of Men".     I decided to reflect a few minutes and make a few comments.
I remember I was surprised when I originally found this site and was eager to chat with others that escort and get input from those who hire.   I viewed it as fantastic opportunity to share and get input.    I remember I was impressed with the professionalism of how "Company of Men"  was administered.   I was moving into my new home and taking a partial break from the marketing side of escorting,  so I really took some time to take it all in.     Ultimately,  I got back into my usual routine and with demands with my regular career were such my time here has been more limited recently.
Really enjoy the site,  however.   I have had a couple of "poor experiences"   on the forums,  but everybody does.   I think  that is expected in any kind of discussion.    People will agree and certainly disagree with you.     While I'm political,   I think it very wise the administration   eliminated direct political commentary from the forums.   I think I have seen  at least some discussion on many other topics.    I like the "national park"  section and still need to add some input after my recent trip west and time hiking and exploring in 2 Utah parks.
I hope the administrators know how much this site does mean to many here.    Thank you for doing the work and  I certainly appreciate being a member here.      Happy Anniversary!

Saw this last weekend as I had a feeling that it wasn't going to last much longer before closing.  I did enjoy it, but from what I recall from seeing the 1993-1995 production, I enjoyed that version much more.   I went back to that IBDB listing to see that Norm Lewis, Alice Ripley, and Sherie Scott (now Sherie Rene Scott) were all in the Ensemble cast for that show.  Those names should be familiar to Broadway aficionados.

I've been enjoying Three Body Problem.  I read some of the books a few years ago, I'm guessing by the fact that I don't remember the books very well that I didn't think they were great. And likewise, I can't really gauge how closely it's following the books.

Watched four out of the six 30 minute episodes of this gay streamer, and I feel like I watched a hundred episodes so far. That's how slow this series is.
William Spetz is the creator / lead actor in this series about a 20-something young man who suddenly deals with grief, sexuality and responsibility all at the same time. The problem with this show (for me) is none of the characters are likeable, and I have no empathy for any of them. Spetz's 'Tore' especially comes across as selfish and uncaring -  not someone the viewer can root for in the series. The rest of the cast is equally unlikeable.
