So far, everyone I have hired has looked like their pictures. A few listed their age as much younger but the man I met still looked like the advertised picture.

If it’s a new provider, I probably wouldn’t recommend either the “fine dining” or “drive thru” orders that @ApexNomadso appropriately describes. If it’s someone you’ve been with before and you know he’s likely to be game, the “drive-thru order” is probably fine. I personally never put that much detail in any text and usually talk around the topic. I recently told a favorite provider that I would be “clean, inside and out” which he corrected interpreted as my request that he fuck me in the ass.

That may be the difference in our perspectives. Yours comes from how the news was presented. Mine came from living it as a long term employee of the government, living and breathing 24/7 what others only regard as the nightly news.

I know and understand what you’re saying. Perhaps one’s outlook depends on one’s age. I am past looking for new jobs. As for listening to rumors, I guarantee that that is not what I do. I live in the DC area where what is happening is very real, close to home, and in the news daily.

That approach certainly works in normal life but in today’s situation, saying “I can’t change that” only works if you aren’t touched by what is happening (privilege). If your relatives or employees are being rounded up, you health isurance is at risk, or you job is in danger, I don’t see how one could say “oh well, can’t change that. What’s for dinner?”

I’m bi and do both. They each have their appeal. Fortunately I’ve found a couple of guys who have been willing to do both with me.

Sure, meetups of forum members do happen. I recently had a great session with a provider who is also on the forum and lives in my area. I reached out to him on CoM via DM, then arranged details via text. I think a lot of forum members also meet during Palm Springs weekend.

I use my regular phone. I have no illusions that it is secure so I try to avoid putting anything compromising in my texts. I vet possible providers very carefully and only hire for incall, which ensures that both of us are discreet. If I were hiring for meetups at a hotel, I would use some kind of anonymizer.

I hire because I no longer have any intimacy in my home and I still crave physical touch. It’s easier to hire to get it than it is to find it elsewhere.

You’re right, we can only control our own behavior. Unfortunately , it’s sad to have to accept that this forum can be the same cesspool as the rest of the internet.

Several people have mentioned ignoring the offending posters but on a forum like this—small and geared toward people with common interests—is it unreasonable to ask for some level of tolerance and civility from all members? Yes, there are a lot of assholes on fora throughout the internet who revel in the anonymity and freedom to post whatever vitriol they want, but we don’t have to be like them. Scrolling and ignoring are good options but what’s wrong with expecting ourselves to meet a higher standard when posting and commenting?

While we’re discussing adding characteristics to Rentmen, perhaps the penis size should include elaboration on how it was measured.
