It’s been a while since I got verified but I’m recalling something about receiving a code, writing it on a piece of paper, and sending a selfie back with the code on the paper. We're all wired a bit differently, and as others here have commented that wiring can change over time. But you're under no obligation to like what others like just because it is presented as a norm. I'd suggest proceeding as a bit of a mentor. You don't have to be over the top about it, but you can give him some gentle direction. I've had a couple of times as a client where I've gone to see a provider and he's only provided me with the building address. I'm OK using the RM chat feature. My only issue with it is that it is inconsistent in sending me a notification that there is a message. Sometimes I get a notification, sometimes I don't. I log into RM maybe twice or three times a day, so if someone leaves a message through the chat I may not see it for several hours, whereas if they send a text or go through Whatsapp I'll get the notification right away.
