In the last 2 days a chocolate factory in West Reading, PA exploded and a 3-alarm fire destroyed a pickle factory in Patterson, NJ.  
Methinks somebody's hormones are out of whack... or maybe it's just coincidental.

3 hours?  What the heck?!  Dude, yes you pay me (eventually), but I work with you, not for you.
Well, now I know that through the decades I've lost (many?) clients by taking longer, sometimes days if I'm Mountain Biking/Snowboarding/Traveling all at once, to respond.  Which is great!  Clients in a hurry aren't often a good match for me.
p.s .Let me add that if I do take a long time to respond to clients, often or sometimes, I have no right at all to bitch about lack of business. But still, what the heck, three hours?!  Feels like your snapping your fingers at us. If the urge is that urgent can't you just jack off and then plan better next time? :-)

For your first question it depends on if you're at home hiring or traveling and hiring. If you're at home trying to hire and you run out of time to make a plan with someone which has happened to me quite often I just shrug my shoulders and wait till next time. But if I'm travelling somewhere I like to reach out to providers a week before I plan to arrive so I can make sure I have plenty of time to lock someone in. And yes I've had plenty of positive experiences with guys who have taken awhile to respond. I always try to only go for guys as well that come verified and recommended via the forum so taking a bit to respond doesn't deter me.

I prefer they have some clothes on as I like to unwrap my gifts.

I'm hoping the door is opened by a guy wearing gym clothes. He is covered up, but you get a little preview before undressing; a hint of what is soon to come.  It's part of the play, part of the dance.  You lose all that if the door is opened by a naked guy. 

I’ve seen many different styles over the years. Personally I prefer them wearing regular clothing. For me, there’s something very sensual in the “reveal”.   

And if you actually believe this, do you think calling the poster dumb and uninformed is helpful to him? Or to anyone?

Honestly, the people responding to @Jarrod_Uncut with "I'll NEVER make a deposit. I'd rather die than Venmo a provider $25 to hold my spot" are just tedious at this point. 
While a few clients on here have had some negative experiences, providers are taking on far more risk than we are. They risk violence, legal action, etc. We risk being out $50 if it falls through. 
Also, we all make deposits on services and even sign agreements with other services providers that allow them to charge us if we don't show up for an appointment. And if you're going to claim you've "never done that", you're full of shit. 
Lastly, given how much clients talk shit about providers on here, you really don't need to jump on every thread when a provider complains about us. 

I would love to be a fly on the wall when this happens.

This has been a very informative series of posts.  What I continue to take from the ongoing conversation is that every individual needs to take responsibility for their own health in EVERY situation.  Do not trust that someone is healthy just because they feel like they are healthy - I know two people who felt completely fine and were dead within four weeks from a cancer they didn't realize they had until it was much too late.  There are ways to reduce the risk of contracting an STD/STI but there is no way to eliminate it completely, short of total abstinence.  Everyone has their own level of risk tolerance and comfort, but your partner is not responsible for ensuring or protecting your sexual health.  Only you can do that.

I suppose that’s the cost of constantly hiring new providers. Nothing wrong with that by any means, you just have to have a reasonable expectation of risk and reward. If you expect all providers to be reliable all of the time, and that nobody requires a deposit under any circumstances, all of them cater to your specific needs, your schedule, any last minute requests, and so on, I would highly recommend reevaluating your expectations.
If hiring reliable people only once or max a few times isn’t doing it for you, prepare to face a lot of challenges. You're setting yourself up for lots of disappointment. That's fine as long as you're prepared to deal with it.
Providers don't pick their clients, but we have to deal with all our clients anyway. Even when they're flaky, unreasonably demanding, or rude. That's a cost of doing business we have to accept if we want to stay in business. Clients get to choose who they want to deal with, whether a few reliable ones or many new faces all the time, of which some are good, and some are bad.
The reward of constant novelty is your trade-off. If that reward is greater than the cost of your risks, go for it. If your risk tolerance is low or the cost too great, that’s on the client. Btw I'm speaking in general terms to clients, not "you" specifically. You can’t have everything all your way all the time. The world isn’t built to serve you.
Sometimes the client has to eat the cost (risk) of constantly hiring new people to get the experiences they want. In the same way, providers eat the cost of constantly dealing with bad clients in order to stay in business and cumulatively earn enough from the good clients to make a decent living.
