@MaxSargent Thanks for posting your perspective and details about the situation. There are always two sides to a story. Still, I don’t fully condone publishing the client information via Twitter. Doing so never seems to turn out well for the provider as evidenced by comments in this thread. The escort just can’t win in these instances. In the end it’s the provider’s reputation that gets tarnished for lack of discretion not the scammer/client.

As a prospective client, dont pull a stunt and you won’t have to worry about these things. Simple. While I do not always condone this type of behavior, I understand the reasoning and I empathize. That’s fantastic that so many of you here are such phenomenal clients that the thought of flaking is unfathomable to you (eye roll) but it’s more common than you think. Fake addresses, fake room numbers, fake cash, fake arrangements, clients who do not pay in full, the list is lengthy and I’ve heard horror stories. Don’t flake. And if you intend to do so, communicate.

Outing someone... that bell cannot be “unrung.”

I think this is the key point here. And that's part of the reason that some of us, like @ITakeItDeep above, have a bad feeling when we listen to Max be charming as he apologizes. An apology can undo hurt feelings, but it can't undo a violation of privacy on the internet. So, when Max says whoops and tells his side of the story while still trying to be cool with everyone here and move on with life... there's a bit of a disjunction.

I think this is something where providers and clients are in this together. If anything, providers have their personal information shared publicly in an unwanted and problematic way more often than clients do. IMHO, this thread should be a reminder to all of us that this line cannot be crossed. A charm offensive runs counter to that purpose.

There have been sites on the internet for years that show names, phone numbers, sometimes addresses of bad clients. How do you know that you haven't already hired one of the people who posts to those sites????????????????? They might be your favorite escort. You never know.

The fact that you feel that you have to write, "...the thought of flaking is unfathomable to you (eye roll)", shows that you've missed the point of most of the reactions here.

I’m not a “client,” I can’t relate. And the clients are not the escorts getting shamned, so they can’t relate either. Maybe the clients should update their privacy policies, idk.

Yeah, and what if he didn’t find this thread and realize that, instead of supporting him, we find what he did despicable? And, at first, he tried to defend an indefensible position, as well as try to SELL us something (read the PS in his first post). FOH!

Outing someone is NEVER OK and that bell cannot be “unrung.” To potentially damage someone’s life, marriage, safety, job and God knows what else because you were miffed that he wasted your precious time is unconscionable and a disgrace to your profession. An apology after realizing people are not with you on this and the damage has already been done is totally unacceptable.

Cruiser,

I stand by my apology, I didn't over think it. It felt like the right thing to do. It was pure of motive - I am sorry.

I hear anger in your post, and maybe even a bit of 'beating a dead horse.' Okay, I'll accept a few extra slaps if you must. However, I think that any justifiable indignation might be directed more constructively by offering your thoughts about how a scenario like the one we had here could have been handled differently.

I'm trying to do the best I can. Any effort in that direction would be greatly appreciated.

What do you think?

Agreed, @Indigo. Aside from Jerry Springer, who pays for an escort with a check?

That’s why I could never fly an escort in from a different state. Besides that I couldn’t afford that, I can’t imagine the logistics of it...send him a plane ticket? The money for the ticket? What if he doesn’t get on the plane? What if he arrives and is terrible at his “job”? Now I’m stuck with this guy for a day plus or whatever? Not for me. Even an overnight I wouldn’t do.

Cruiser,

That's exactly what I did last week. Hired by a first time client, the trust was extended both ways for a 5 day booking, and we all met our commitments perfectly. I'll add that with this first meeting excellent rapport was established. What may be a frightening prospect, can end up quite well. And it did.

I wish I could agree with you. But as of today, 5/27, the insensitive tweet about Mr. G.W. area code 415, is still ON his twitter account ... What good is an apology if he doesn't remove the offending tweet?

Or is it impossible to remove tweets once you posted them?

Baron,

The thread is about a man supposedly named Rene. The post you are referring to is another post about an apparent scammer named George. These are totally different.

What bothers me more than what you actually did, was your smug and arrogant response. Lots of people respond that way too when they they've done something really wrong and don't want to give into the shame (especially when it's public). I can only hope that's what is going on with you because if not, then you are truly devoid of any conscience.

You aimed all of your frustration with all of the flakes you've encountered on just a few unfortunate souls. This guy ruined a few hours of your time, you may have ruined his life and he didn't deserve it. And did you stop to think at all not only about the dire consequences for him - both professionally and personally, but the serious collateral damage you may have cause as well? He could have children.

We ALL get frustrated with flakes whether there's some sort of transaction or not. I understand it must be all that more frustrating when those experiences aren't just limited to some weekends like it is with most of us 9-5'ers - and it's made all that more frustrating when that's how you pay your bills. However, I have news for you. We ALL experience the same kind, and same level of frustration in our own careers sometimes - be it not knowing that someone ordered the wrong part for an important project until it was too late or having finance upstairs lose your paperwork even though you emailed it, faxed it, and hand carried it. And what makes us professionals, is how we respond to it, not by throwing a tantrum and taking all of our toys home.

I agree with what OliverSaks said "

Yeah, like charging a deposit with whatever conditions you choose. Otherwise, if you're getting so frustrated in this career that you can't problem solve and instead invoke the nuclear option, perhaps you should think about doing something else.

Finally, you don't know me, so I don't really expect you to care or respect what I say, but it seems there are a lot of people on here who think fondly of you and were surprised by your actions. Look, you fucked up - and fucked up kind of really bad. So I hope you'll at least hear them.

TakeitDeep,

I've listened, I'm listening, and will continue to listen and learn. I have NOT been editing each response as much as I would if I were doing this for purely academic purposes. If you think my syntax sounds smug, I take that to heart too. (Note to self, rewrite any section that seems smug.)

I'm trying to do my best. I'm sorry.

This post reminds me of Mario Batali's "I'm sorry I sexually harassed those women but here's a recipe for a cinnamon rolls. " Except this time there's no apology.

Brutus,

I am truly sorry. I was wrong. If anyone thinks I have not apologized for this mistake, I will repeat it. I still have a lot to learn. I'm sorry!

I don't care what Max writes or says or does; he shared private information that wasn't his to share.

The fact that you feel that you have to write, "...the thought of flaking is unfathomable to you (eye roll)", shows that you've missed the point of most of the reactions here.

You are right. I crossed that line. I regret k having done do

So what you are saying, if I understand it correctly, that you have repeatedly outed names of your clients?
