Is showing face a huge deal?

Hi! I sorta recently started. I'm openly gay, not worried about being 'discreet', and I don't find anything shameful at all about this even though a lot of people out there do. I'm not really worried about anyone I know finding out because, well A) I'm not ashamed of it and B) Anyone that manages to find an ad is likely looking for someone to hire anyways

However, I'd rather not have everything just completely out in the open and obvious? I mean I'm not afraid of being found out per say.. and I'm happy to provide a face picture if someone asks?

That definitely got a lot longer than I intended haha.. Anyways, is it THAT big of a deal to clients if you don't have a picture showing your face anywhere in your ads? I do worry a little bit about it because most of the other guys in my area seem to have face pics all over the place. Is it something that would make someone normally completely pass you over?

It will matter to some people and not others.

 

Some clients who do extended bookings prefer that you don’t show your face so that you can be seen together without it being obvious to anyone who has seen RM that you’re an escort. Some clients need to see a face before they book to know if they’ll be attracted to you.

 

You should do whatever you feel comfortable with. Facial recognition software is becoming increasingly common, and showing your face as an escort can make crossing certain international borders unnecessarily difficult. It’s possible we will see even more of that in the future, and the internet is forever.

 

I say all of that, but I’m someone who shows my face in all my marketing. For me, sharing my face with potential lovers in advance is really important, so I take all the risks and chalk it up to occupational hazard.

Thanks for the input! I guess although I enjoy it, I'm not so much looking at this as like, a full-time career type thing? I'm not really embarrassed or concerned so much about being recognized on like, a personal level, but idk on a professional level it could become an issue in the future? Also I have like.. idk a minor online presence separate from this as well and I imagine if either gets big enough they'd eventually end up intertwining regardless, but I'd like to at least not encourage that? haha. I probably sound like a mess.

Although I usually end up with some perfect ones, I'm not into faces at all so it doesn't matter to me. However then it's essential you state your hair color/eye color and maybe ethnic. I have a weird thing where I can only get erections for non-brown eyes. It's a kissing/making out thing and contacts don't work. So for me I have to know the eye color. Hair color and ethnic not as important for me.

Yes to this. I too find myself more reluctant to contact someone without a face-pic. But if you are willing to share something -- locked pics, a pic with blurred features, even a description ("my friends say I look like a beefier James Franco") -- that would suggest to me that you're genuinely concerned about privacy/discretion and not running a scam.

It's almost unanimous. No face pic, no hire. There a lot of things that I will overlook in an ad, but "No Face Pic" is a deal breaker. I dodged a bullet once with 'the Waffle'...and it was a lesson learned.

No face pic... for me it depends.

 

I’ve hired a number of guys who didn’t reveal their faces (Kyle Parker, Kristian Elix, Andrew Irons, Cristobal from the site dawgpoundusa, & Brock Vinson... to name a few). Each of them had incredible bodies, but I had no clue what some of them looked like. To be fair, I have a damned near photographic memory. So I could recognize some of these faceless guys just by their bodies alone (the ones who did porn). Anyway each and every one of them were amazing.

 

My problem is more with people who misrepresent themselves in pics or use the pics of other people. Early on in my hiring career I was burned by a couple guys using others pics. I know some are ok with escorts using other people’s photos. Personally, if I can’t verify in some way the pics are of the person putting up the ad... I don’t care how favorable reviews of that person is, I’m reluctant to engage or hire at all.

 

Ultimately you have to do what you feel makes you comfortable when placing your ad. As others have suggested, if you don’t want to show your face in the main ad... there are options to provide it privately to your potential hires.

I have also hire without face pics and thank God I did, because I would have missed out on the fantastic Dane Scott. I do like profiles that have a face pic, but thee have been those times that when I knock on the door, the face looks nothing like what was in the profile.

I've hired many of men who neither show face pics in their ads nor do they share via email or text. I've rarely been disappointed. For me, it's how the escort presents themselves in their ad through text and body language in pics. Should I be on the fence and still want to see a face pic before making a final decision, I always show that I am a serious client which results in getting one. This means stating where, when and what I'm looking for. I'm sure if you start with just "face pic?" you're not going to get many responses.

As a client, this issue confuses me a bit.

 

I saw a guy a few months ago. Faceless ad. As he was en route to my home, my skepticism was aroused, and a more rigorous image search showed his body pics weren't him. I called to express my concern, assuming I'd cancel. (He was on a long distance trip through my area, stopping to see me en route; I was not the main purpose of the trip. I would have been less casual if I was the main reason for travel. In this situation, I wouldn't have felt any obligation related to travel costs & canceling. ) He offered Facetime.

 

The video confirmed that he is not the guy pictured. But he is very similar in appearance... face and body. I proceeded with the session. It was excellent.

 

I asked why he doesn't use his own photos, even with face blocked/cropped, rather than some model's IG pics. His explanation is that he had a very bad experience with pictures being discovered online a few years ago, costing him business and personal life embarrassment. I'm skeptical, but, makes no difference to me.

 

He is very nervous regarding pictures. Would not permit even a candid face-only for my phone contacts. We took a walk for dinner during a follow-up longer session, and I noticed he stood back, angled away while I unlocked the front door.... there's a camera plainly visible there.

 

So, I took a chance, hired a guy with obscured-face pics. It not only worked out ok, it totally contradicted my absolute belief that a guy would never be as or more attractive than fake pictures.

Some of the best escorts I've met want to be discreet because they want to have a life after "hanging the gloves" without the baggage of their past hanging around their necks. Some clients are more likely to take "faceless" escorts to social events, trips, etc. without the fear of his gay friends knowing he's paying for company and didn't just get lucky with a younger guy. We know how judgmental gay men can be about what we do or don't do with our money... None of my friends ever admitted to paying for sex. I guess that's still a taboo this side of the Atlantic.

Faceless pics are much more likely to be scams. Guy picks a bod that is remotely close to his (of a few years back). Why a face pic on request is good.

 

Of course any ad with only professional photos is suspect to me. I want to see 1 candid photo at least. It's usually the worst 1 and the most accurate.

 

Also, better guys have candid selfies in hotel elevator mirrors. Mark of the trade.
