One of my friends mentioned something about that which sounded logical to me. He suggested that since the human body is primarily water, and considering how the moon affects the oceans and tides, it seems logical that it could have some effect upon humans.

I'm not sure about a Full Moon - I've always heard that police departments get many more bizarre calls during a full moon. I do know that in nursing homes there is a phenomenon called SUNDOWNING - residents, especially those with dementia tend to get more irritable, agitated, and unmanageable when the sun goes down. Having worked with patients with schizophrenia, I found that they, too, tend to have increased symptoms after the sun goes down. The opposite is true for those with depression who tend to feel better at night - and, as a result, often stay awake all night and sleep during the day.

I have a 101 year old aunt in a nursing home and her daughter reminded me to always call in the morning.

For several years I had a standing appointment with my favorite escort for 9pm on the night of the full moon. I definitely felt that those tidal forces had an effect on my Libido.

My sister is a nurse with a Masters in Public Health Nursing and over 30 years working in Geriatric care. She says that "Sundown syndrome" is very real. It is often an early sign of dementia.

I can’t be bothered looking them up, but I have read of studies of emergency rooms that found that there was no impact on patients from the full moon, but medical staff felt there was a difference. A good friend of mine is a nurse practitioner who swears that patients act differently during a full moon.

Client calls to the office definitely seem to be much more off-the-wall a day or two before through a day or two after a full moon. I think bankers and folks in retail will concur....things get a little wacky around the full moon.

When I worked retail we could always tell when it was a full moon based on customer behavior. There were a lot of alteration issues for some reason. People needing trousers or sleeves lengthen/ shortened a 16 of an inch or some such nonsense.

Now in the business events business I find the strangest emails and calls come around a full moon. Issues like "Do you need a passport to visit New Mexico?"

There are some shifts when I do not know the status of the moon - and I will say - gee its like a full moon tonight - and someone will say yes it is. In my job any shift can be a nightmare - but yes full moons do have specific volumes of mental health issues and domestic violence etc which is related to Mental Health concerns

I’ve lived in New Mexico. The passport thnig came up all the time. Of course, the answer: “Yes!” :)

A former co-worker (college graduate) stunned me when she asked "is New Mexico part of the contiguous United States?"

I’ve heard that nurses in obstetrics think that placentas break (normal pre-birth occurrence) more often during a full moon.

I have always found that I am hornier than usual during a full moon.

OF COURSE!!!

My hands start growing a lot of hair on the palms.

Two peas in a pod. ;)
