I was checking out rentboy.us and was floored to see that someone I hookup with was now an escort. I don't know if he was one when we met, but I doubt it. Has this happened to anyone else?

During the summer, I was hooking up wth this guy a few times...he was planning to study abroad for a year and I wasn't interested in pursuing anything serious with him. Anyhow, some of our conversations was about him wanting to find a sugar daddy, he always seemed hard up for a cash, and I really didn't want to be in that role for him. Towards the fizzling out phase, he brought up that he was thinking of becoming an escort, and I ended up proofreading his bio for a possible Rentmen ad. I have yet to see his face/dick pop up on RM or sleepyboy but I reckon it's only a matter of time.

I got hit up by a young coworker on Grindr once but logistics never worked out. A year later I left the company and saw his pics on rentmen. Now I'm wondering if he viewed me as practice for whether he had the nerve for that kind of work. :(

I've had a few conversations like this with a few guys and I never know quite how to manage them. Being "drafted" as a sugar daddy feels weird, and it usually seems to happen in the "fizzling out phase," so I always wondered if these guys had enough intuition to be able to do this work well if they ever really began it.

I agree with you. It is definitely not for everybody! I estimate the longevity of an escort career to be 6-9 months. I was looking at RM - New York City, thinking, how many of these guys were advertising more than a year ago? Not too many.

luckily in my case, he kept brinmging it up like a future goal, rather than as a seduction technique. I would imagine in you're case, the sugar daddy talk would be more directly aimed at you (since it keeps coming up)?

 

As for managing that particular discussion, I think I responded, "let's go to the bar and find you a millionaire!" I do make a good wingman.

I saw a friend at the bar with a date. A couple of weeks later I hired a guy from someplace, probably a service or from a magazine ad (this was pre-internet), and it was my friend's date. I don't know if the guy had started escorting yet when he was on that date.

I don't know if it counts, but I used to hire a nonpro personal trainer for some private same sex fun. He wasn't an escort that advertised or anything, we just connected and had an agreement for regular get togethers.

If you are young, muscle, etc. you ll sooner or later meet all the escorts who are gays too for free just using Grindr. But unfortunately the majority of the hottest escorts are not gays so for them you'll have to pay at least a discounted rate (being hot yourself)

In one case definitely yes. This was a guy who was not terribly attractive (scar and growth stunt from childhood cancer) and who by his own admission had Aspergers and so was fairly socially awkward. I tried to forgive the social awkwardness but it was hard not to give him a reality reorientation sometimes!

Yes. Several times. But I have always treated my "dates" as being special, and treat regulars to dinner and occasionally a gift. Perhaps that positive attention leads to the desire to get more of it.

From my experience living in NYC, I find that many personal trainers are available as 'DL' escorts. The trainers at Equinox in particular.

 

So yes, it has happened to me.
