As a very newbie client who really likes older, mature men, I was wondering if you escorts had any feeling about an upper age limit for escorts. Does there come a time/age when clients simply stop calling and it's no longer worth the time and effort to keep the ads going and your site running? Who do you think might be the oldest active guy on this site?

The ads will be taken down and they will disappear completely. Guys in group 1 may or may not take their ads down, or scale them way back, but often will continue to see long term clients even if there is no ad running.

 

As far as who might be the oldest active escort on this site I'm not going to touch that one. Since I been around since Hooboy founded the original site, or very shortly thereafter, I've got a few ideas, but I suspect that is a very touchy question

I think the gay community as a whole is even more youth focused than society in general -- and that's saying something.

 

I'm a bit of the opposite way. I tend to dismiss the 30 and younger crowd (though not entirely, especially a hot, mature guy in his upper 20s). But I prefer the 30s and 40s guys. I hired one guy who might have been 50 or a tad older and had a great time.

 

I suspect 45 to 50 becomes a key cut-off point for a lot of clients, but I think an escort who has been in the business awhile, established a good pool of regulars and a solid reputation and has taken good care of himself physically could continue on past 45 until not so far away from normal retirement age.

 

I can't say I've ever seen an ad from an escort beyond his late 50s. But I'd hire a handsome, robust late 50s guy over some flighty twinkish guy who just turned 21. I think the real sweet spot is the 30s, especially the early and mid 30s. You're still young enough for all but the most youth-obsessed and you're old enough now for the folks who want someone more seasoned.

I don't think there is an age "limit" for escorting. IMHO, every potential client has his own personal likes, dislikes, people he is attracted to, what he wants out of a session and on and on. I think an escort should continue doing it as long as he's comfortable with it, likes the work and delivers what his client is looking for. Age should not have anything to do with it.

This is quite an interesting topic. I do notice that so far there are no postings by any escort in either Epigonos’ first or second category! Personally I know an escort that I hire on a regular basis who is on the other side of 35 now, beginning to head toward forty (I am quite a bit older than him.) He has been a student, first an undergrad and now working for a masters/doctorate for almost six years.

 

He has assured me many times that once he completes all of his college, pays off any debt he has remaining and begins the career he plans in his chosen field, he will stop advertising as an escort. The above is the original post that started this thread. That post appeared in the Forum Ask an Escort and thus I answered it in Forum Ask an Escort. Mentioning the names of Dane Scott, Rod Hagen, and Kristian, is simply answering that question with examples of guys over 35 who are still advertising, still active and still successful in the business. If some consider that a recommendation so be it!!!!!

I personally think Dane Scott is a phenomenal escort in all ways including being a true mensch in the best sense of the word. So although I believe the OP was interested in how escorts look at their businesses in relation to their age/aging, it appears so far that perhaps escorts either have no interest in discussing themselves aging and/or do not feel comfortable with the topic?

Not long ago I met a fit man in his 70s who carried on like he was 20. It honestly was embarrassing for those around him, though I think he was oblivious to the way people were receiving him. Confidence is good. Assertiveness is good. Wearing clothing designed for late teens/early twenties guys and then insisting on "modeling" for people and actively soliciting compliments is beyond confident; it's just desperate. Now that I think of it, behavior like his would likely be off putting for a man of any age -- it's just that a younger guy might be able to act that way and not alienate everyone if he's a particularly sexy man.

 

Back to the original question, I'm sure this is too touchy of a subject for active escorts to discuss here. If you could communicate with escorts who have chosen to retire due to age, it would be interesting to learn their thought process around that. I initially did not respond to this post because I did not want to be the one to finger the "oldest active guy on this site" and thought it might be a set-up. But as an over-40 I'm heartened by the responses from clients and it affirms that there is a market for us older guys, and I can see from docred's follow-ups that the question is legit.

 

I'd describe myself as "semi-retired" in that I am not currently advertising but am still seeing existing clients and referrals as long as they keep calling. Appointments are either weekend travel, or shorter local appointments with guys I've been seeing for a long time. One guy I've been seeing off and on for more than a decade.

 

The scaling down was not from lack of business, but because of a change in my day job. I've always either been in school or had a day job while I've escorted, but the new job is much more demanding in terms of both schedule and energy than my previous jobs. The sensitivity for discretion is also higher. I love escorting so it is not easy to scale back, but the job is career-building and at this stage in my life seems like the right thing to do.

 

It's good to know from the posts here that there is a market for mature guys. Initially I thought I could keep going into my 50s, but sounds like even going beyond that could be possible if desired.
