Thoughts on this watch?

I'll try and ignore the childish rantings and talk about watches…

I don't care for TAG's. To me they look like cheap imitations of nicer watches.

On top of that...they are not cheap. If they were in the $250-$500 range I'd

think they were a great value, but still not stylish.

Nonetheless I enjoy watches of all makes and sizes. I think there a great way for

a man to show some style. I used to wear a mid-priced Cartier religiously. It has been

to hell and back and still looks and runs great. To me it was worth the investment and

it has outlasted a landfill’s worth of cheaper brands that I have owned.

Since I bought an IPhone, I rarely wear any of them. I used to think of a watch as

“acceptable male jewelry”. Times have changes and now if I want to wear something

on my wrist I tend to go for a nice bracelet or two, or three instead.

I once read an article that said a gentleman only wears a watch to work and NEVER

to a social evening engagement. The evening should last as long as it lasts and time

should never be an issue. Thus wearing a watch to evening social engagements is

pointless and rude.

I rather like that idea (yes, we can argue the practicality of it for hours)

and took up the rule for myself. So, when you invite me over for dinner,

you will never see me look at my watch because it won’t be there.

Oh, Max, Max, Max. I don’t know whether I like you, dislike you, or am indifferent. . . . Well, actually yes, I do know. . . .

Here's a suggestion: get a tattoo of a watch set to one particular time so you can always look at that watch and think "good times."

Nice idea, but how will I know what time to show? After all, I haven’t even met you yet.

And there should be a mysterious hand that's winding the watch, and when people look at your cool tattoo they'll be all like: "Whoa, dude—that's a deep statement about humanity and selflessness that someone would take their time to perpetually make sure you're on time. Whose hand is it, anyway?"

I want your hand on my watch?

And you can look with a secret wry smile and just answer with a "oh, just someone special I once knew," and go about your day—but only you will know whether that hand actually belongs to Sean Caden or not.

Ah, yes, bittersweet nostalgia. Just the thing to greet me every time I wash my hands.

Yeah, that's what I would do.

Hehehe, a great post. Well done, Max. I guess I love you after all.

Your logic fails me:

1. I chose a middle range Tag, rather than their high end 4k watches.

2. I chose a Tag rather than a Rolex.

3. I have been in a high level job for nearly 20 years and have never owned a watch worth noting.

4. I drive a 300 series BMW.

5. I don't drive an Escalade because I am not a car service or a black rapper.

According to your logic I must face situations of insecurity at every moment of my life.

Hmmmm, lets throw THIS comment into the racist escort Thread..... (guess you Dont need to be an escort to be Racist ? you can be an arrogant, entitled, braggadocio WHITE, jewish lawyer ! )

I better double-check, my asian neighbor owns an escalade. Maybe they are Famous ????

LOL, when you see me turning off lights and loading the dishwasher, please take the hint. ;)

My dad once tired of houseguests who would NOT take a hint that the evening was over. He went upstairs, got ready for bed, and then came back down in his skivvies to retrieve a beer from the refrigerator. They finally got the hint.

as long as price is not an issue and youll wear it, buy it.

this is starting to feel a lot like a 'escorts with high rates' topic.. those who criticize because they won't or can't afford a watch like this and then those who offer practical advice.

It is time to close this thread and move on... some of the comments here are just unbelievable... I guess some folks just can't stand it when others express their opinions about the original question... some of the recommendations were sincere and responsive, but some were..... well... enough said.

I agree with Lucky and Rick and others who have questioned spending large amounts of money for watches.

Thanks, William, but I actually never said that. I just suggested a cheap Timex or using a cell phone. I don't really care what anybody else does with their money.

I have a little experience with paying a lot for a watch. My opinion is that we should only spend more than 1,000 on a watch that has resale value. A Rolex for example can always be sold for cash and I believe its the easiest brand to sell. A jeweler I use even takes them in trade towards new purchases or will pay cash. So, I suggest that instead of buying a Tag for 2,000 or so which you probably wouldn't be able to sell for 500 the day after, save up a little longer and either buy a new Rolex or a used one from a reputable jeweler. You can likely buy a used Rolex, even with some gold in the band, for 5,000 or maybe even less. I know people who have done that and never regretted it. I have spent probably more than 5,000 over the years buying random watched, some work, some don't and buying a single Rolex instead would have been a better idea. Of course a Timex from WalMart or Target works on the days you don't want to wear the real bling :)

Well, for all our sakes, you should know about all of this better than Us.. Shouldn't you really stop pretending to an old man, when you really are just an older and tired escort, looking for work and PR?

You can save a lot of keystrokes if you just create a hot-key combination - then you won't have to type out all the characters in the sentence each time. (If you haven't already). Maybe alt-G ? :)

I didn't know that was the case with jimboivyo. How do you?

Good point here. I have 5 Cartier watches (including one I received on my 18th birthday) that I wear on a rotating basis. Recently had them appraised and was pleasantly surprised they retained if not increased in value. I like citylaws taste in a rugged watch and think the chronograph is pretty nice. He might also consider the Cartier chronograph roadster as ive received many compliments on it.

Reading through the threads I think it is silly that some here might pronounce it frivolous to purchase a watch when many of us spend thousands more annually on hiring escorts with nothing tangible to show for it except a few glowing reviews. Yes, watches are redundant in this day of mobile phones and PDAs, but I treat my watches like jewellry and have different ones for different occasions.

Hope everyone in the NYC area enjoyed the lovely Pride festivities! Saw a number of celebrities out and about along with a few popular NYC rentboys in very nice stages of undress. It was a lovely and gorgeous day.

If you have to wear a chronometer in a social or business setting, it is, for me, an advertisement that your time is not your own. . .just a thought.

I do not need to know the time.

I do not wear a watch.

I'd rather drown in fetid slime

Or take a vicious potch. http://www.maleescortreview.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

I think the design of the Tag Heuer's watch in the OP is distinguished and sleek, but my opinion is biased because I own a similar Tag, a gift from a friend.

I don't like wearing expensive watches or watches of any type because 1) they always seem to get in the way and 2) are seen as an exterior sign of wealth. In the same light I don't wear and don't own any kind of jewelry.
