2 things the industry needs to dispel: same day/high volume

I say this because, some days I feel roughly 75% of my potential bookings have been lost due to not being able to accommodate same day sessions. And it’s not that I don’t necessarily want to, but more often than not the timing parameters needing to be met are unrealistic.
 

Example; clients contacting from cities 3-4 hours away on my nearby travel city list asking to meet the same day/later that evening. It’s just not always possible, especially when many clients want to go to bed by 10 p.m. so they can be up early. Too many people are expecting on time arrival, but giving next to no notice. A couple Sundays ago, I had to cancel 2 sessions because although they contacted me in the morning to ask for later that night: it was one of my travel cities 3.5 hours away. And that’s not including the planning to stay overnight, mini packing, etc. By the time I was done, including my own routine for the day: it left no time to commute and see them. Granted; if these clients were only 15 minutes or less away from me, it would have likely not been an issue. 

I did some browsing the other day on a particular platform (though for mostly amateur providers). I seen so many guys saying, “only contact me if you’re ready to meet now”. But I think what should be misinterpreted is: we want a client to know when and be ready to SCHEDULE. And keep it. Versus someone just contacting to talk dirty with no intent to meet. 
 

We’re not emergency services. Or pizza delivery. We’re probably more similar to a relative of yours or an actual date interest you have: you gotta have the inclination to plan that time ahead. It’s simply not fair to carrot 🥕 dangle an invitation without leaving room for the other party to plan.

Yes I get some clients are needing to seize the opportunity in between their busy lives BUT: if it’s a priority to meet, it would be helpful to be treated as such.
 

2ndly: the idea that we all have multiple clients lined up in a day, is a farce. What usually ends up happening for me when multiple clients are looking for the same day: I only end up getting to see 1 guy because the timing is too close together, or the others can’t book earlier/later. 
 

Most days, I’m having to keep myself occupied with other tasks and hobbies because a client is unlikely to be available the same day, in the same city at convenient hours for me: no matter how much I platinum boost my RentMen or have “available now” on. But I’m also not just waiting around in bed, looking to be picked up by someone. 
 

On average, I’m seeing 2-3 clients a week locally. When visiting a bigger city, or hoping between multiple cities, I may luck out and squeeze in more clients. But that’s  when I’m in “tour” mode. And even that’s become less common lately due to politics and the fact that many cities have 3-4 times the amount of guys than even 5 years ago. Example: my area used to only have like 5-10 guys advertising. Now it’s been like 50 local/traveling guys posting up. 
 

All in all, I think I’m leaning towards starting a same day fee for bookings. And no, many of these guys aren’t offering extra for same day. It has to usually be asked for. But I been letting it slide by thinking my rates are ample enough. It’s not though. I’m considering $100 to $200 extra for same day bookings because it’s a lot of effort to go from at home mode to, hotel parking garage/walking a mile thru a resort at 10 p.m. mode. 
 

Of course, this may change if I decide to relocate to a city where everything in 20 minutes away…however the same need to dispel inaccurate ideas about how individual sex workers operate is still due.

Hey there @JB_Studio38, I take your points and have myself definitely been guilty of both last minute booking and assuming that guys are booked and busy. I mostly book on the masseur side so maybe I have a bias. Those ideas have come from profile information or direct communication with folks. Two ideas:

1) Make it clear. As you mention, some profiles state clearly not to book far ahead and that they prefer same day. Granted horny men often don’t read. Hell…a lot of people don’t read. Haha. Say up front what you need people to know. 
 

2) fees vs rates. Your same day fee idea seems complicated. I know you want to change behavior, and fees are helpful in doing that, but if you’re the only one doing it, you may wind up frustrated and dealing with frustrated potential clients. Many of us aren’t into deposits/fees. Other escorts prefer same day. Why not up your rate? Cover your costs and whatever you need? While a higher rate may deter people, I’m not sure it’s any more of a deterrent than fees. 
 

You may have thought about these already and feel free to disregard them if unhelpful.
 

These are just suggestions to reduce frustration and confusion for both you and potential clients.

I think you might be overanalyzing what they mean there-from reaching out to some of those providers they literally do mean making an appointment for that day. I don't like same day appointments either, feels like you're really hoping schedules line up when you reach out.

I don't think you'll have much success upcharging for same day bookings. Especially as your competitors don't do that. Why not increase your rate and give a discount for advance bookings? 

Ends up the same for you, but you're now rewarding the behavior you like.

That said, if everyone would put in their ad what they prefer, this would be so much easier:

5 hour notice

No same day bookings

Available "now" means tonight from 6-10.

and clients get accused of playing games and being time-wasters.

I will add: It definitely seems RentMasseur is the common last minute booking site. But where I live at, it seems everybody contacts from RentMasseur. The Midwest seems very massage based sex work. 
 

I been running my ad in other states, namely California: getting a lot more people willing to get on my guest list. 
 

I actually just added a $100 same day deposit fee on my profile. As in, it’s a deposit but it’s also a surcharge. That’s not me being greedy, but I really need to be able to know when I need to prepare for an appointment. I really want to add an extra $200 fee but, I feel that might seem greedy. I heard of another escort on here claiming a client offering him double his fee for a same day booking. 

I had a client the other day reach out to me just after 8 p.m.; he looked like a good time and would have liked to meet: but wanted me to host because he was in town visiting. For me to do that, I would have to commute closer to the city he was in, book a hotel room and stay overnight. On top of that, I had just gotten home from that area about an hour prior. I told him if reached out hours earlier, I could have accommodated. He was in town for 2 nights he told me, but could only manage to meet me 1 of those nights. 

Some possibilities for others I can imagine, is maybe a joining partner or co worker had to back out at the last minute, or another provider couldn’t show up. But I can’t be a 24/7 backup plan if I’m not actually scheduled to be on call

You know, back in my day, (as a 40yr legit theatre professional - not your 9-5 kind of life) we lived near where the work was. We didn't ask for more $ if we had to haul our asses, supplies and tool kits extra miles for some gigs. 

But things were so radically different.

We had a) the choice of an affordable residential location and b) the choice to either do the specialized work with a drive or find other employment and c) to be the bitch that does nothing but complain about a) and b) 

c) never brought one more work.
