I’ve read the other threads on expired profiles, but there are some things that I still don’t get:

There are several providers I’ve seen who’ve let their profiles lapse for months yet still check it very regularly. Is there a point to that? As far as I know they can’t see any messages they’ve gotten. Are they trying to see who messaged them and then go to their profiles to contact them via like a number or something?

Also, some expired profiles show up in the searches, but some don’t. Is there a rhyme or reason to that?

I believe they still can get messages on RM with an expired page. Their Call Me option just gets removed from their profile though till they re-up their subscription. They can still check messages and provide their number manually to those who still inquire.

Whether or not they show up in search isn't based on if your profile is active/lapsed. It's a separate setting. So if a guy you see in the search has an expired profile that just means they didn't go turn their searchability off, either by design or they just forgot. It's not necessarily a purposeful decision.

A guys page being expired kinda doesn't actually mean anything about their availability unless their profile is expired in combination with also having not logged in in a while. Or unless you see the below message on their profile (which means they actively froze their account and are away indefinitely):

I've noticed what seems like an uptick in expired profiles. I'm curious if others have noticed this.

A large portion of my buddy list are expired profiles now. That is unusual for me.

I think the far more likely explanation (at least based on my conversations with providers who have let their profiles expire) is that the majority pay month-to-month (RM offers a discount for those willing to take the ad out for six months) and, if the prior month was a bust or near bust and they are hearing that hiring is slow from others, they just let it expire and decide later if they perceive hiring to be “picking up” to then reactivate the ad.

If they can receive messages when their ad is expired, which I believe is the case because I have had replies from expired escorts I messaged, then they still get for free the basic benefit of RM in linking them to potential clients.  The downside is that a lot of clients believe that expired status means the escort is no longer available.

Correct me if I'm wrong, it seems like expired profiles have limited/restricted picture & video posting capabilities.  So the users are not able to advertise as effectively.  There needs to be some significant disadvantages to discourage people from letting their profiles expire.

I agree.  Maybe a provider can join the conversation and enlighten us.

Correct. That, plus expired profiles don't usually get any of the boosting that Gold/Platinum/RentMen of the Day/Sponsored profiles get on the front page and in the top of the Search. That's what they're really paying for.

Not a provider, but i have access to one's RM account cause i pay for his subscription sometimes 😅.
