Looks good. Did you try it?

Last one I sampled was at Canters in LA, on Fairfax.

When did it first make an appearance? I seem to remember them from the 70’s here in Canada. Nate’s Delicatessen on Rideau St. Which is gone now.

According to the Internet, Reubens are found in many countries where restaurants offer "Western Cuisine"

The article suggests the Reuben has been around 100 or more years.

I recall Mom made them now and then, when I was growing up in the Midwest.

We have a similar thing in Australia (PayID), it works with any bank but you have to register with your bank. You can use an e-mail, phone number or ABN (Australian Business Number). I'm not sure we've had it for, but I don't think it's as long as Canada. It's not anonymous so I've found out escorts' real names, but they didn't seem to care (one I know doesn't care at all).

30 seconds... in Europe it's within ten seconds.

A similar system, called FPS (fast payment service), exists in Hong Kong.  It works using a bank account, a mobile phone, or a FPS ID. In Mexico (yes, in Mexico) you can e-transfer funds between bank accounts using a system called SPEI (Sistema de Pagos Eléctronicos Interbancarios).

In both places transfers work 24/7 and are basically instantaneous. 🤷🏻‍♂️

When it comes to retail banking Canada has always been ahead of the US with technological innovations. I credit this to the number of small banks in the US compared to only 6 chartered banks in Canada (there are smaller niche banks but they don’t generally serve the public for all their banking needs).
Same with credit cards.

Some of you watching the Brazil matches may have asked yourself,

"Am I wrong, or does Brazil have an extra long anthem?"

The answer is yes, it's a famously long one.   In some cases, an abbreviated version is played.  'Tis a beautiful composition.

That said, it is still not nearly the longest anthem.  Other countries' anthems have multiple stanzas that carry on and on!! 🌎🎼🎶

How long is it?

According to the Internet, the Brazilian Anthem is 1 minute, 45 seconds, leaving out the 2nd stanza.

I'll bring my stop watch and time it during Wednesday's match.

That was the only practical way to keep the classic Porsche design with that engine. It may cost $1K to replace the air filter but it only requires replacement every 4 years.

Classic Porsche design on a Panamera??  It could have been worse - $1K for that amount of labor doesn’t seem so bad.

The Panamera was designed to resemble a 911 with a low sloping nose and apparently the best way to do that with a front engine was to put the engine air filter at the very front.

I guess their's no "pre-trial" before completing a boat and setting it into the sea?

That reminds me of the Vasa, the Swedish warship that sank on its launching 500 or so years ago. It’s was recovered in the 1960’s and I saw it in Stockholm shortly after. Today it’s in a museum .

I had the same thought. The Vasa turned turtle (as this boat appears to have done) on its maiden voyage in 1628 and sunk about 1400 yards from shore in Stockholm harbor in about 100 feet of water. It had a critical design flaw. It was recovered almost completely intact in 1961 and now resides in a local museum where you and I saw it.

Reminds me of King Henry VIII's Tudor warship,  the Mary Rose. Built in Portsmouth England in 1511, it sank in 1545 and was raised from the seabed in 1982.

Today, visitors to the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard can experience the preserved portion of the ship,  and thousands of artifacts.

My brother recently visited there.
