DMonDude Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Like the way we all come here to review/recommend/discourage against providers. Do providers who are friends with other providers talk to each other about their good and bad clients and recommend clients to each other?
Gilfson Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Not so much about the good but we do warn each other of dangerous/problem clients JTtorretto, spidir and SDcompanyman 2 1
Daniel84 Posted August 23 Posted August 23 (edited) Yes my group of friends warn each other from bad clients. It probably has saved my life to be honest. Soon my plan is to stop advertising and have regular base. I would rather have great clients that respect our time then the crackheads that want to slam... If a client asked about slamming I Block and inform guys I know to be careful. I have 150 5 Star reviews except one one star review. The guy slammed and then became suicidal talking about he wanted me to kill him because if I did it his mom won't be upset with him.... He gave me a 1 Star review beacuse I didn't do what he wanted .. Sharing bad experiences keeps us in the industry safe. Until this legal the only we we can protect each other is to have open communication with other providers. big-n-tall Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Yes they do for sure. I don’t know to what percentage but it does happen. Some share info about a client good or bad. Sometimes that information sharing is extensive and sometimes not. There is a provider who I’ve known for years (about 15 now). He was the 2nd guy I ever did an overnight with. He used to be an active member of the forum. In any case, another provider (also on the forum) and he were friends. I had started to see the 2nd provider eventually, years after the first. The 2nd provider (who did not know that I’ve seen the the 1st provider for years) told the 1st provider I was a great hire and that he should reach out to me when he visited my city. The 2nd provider eventually mentioned to me he did this. Which I remarked I knew the 1st provider for years before I known him and that he was one of my most frequent hires. 😁 Daniel84 and spidir 1 1
+ Jamie21 Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Yes but probably not in the way you might think. We share info about trouble makers and time wasters. pubic_assistance, + KensingtonHomo and spidir 2 1
+ JamesB Posted August 23 Posted August 23 From what I’ve seen and been told, providers do warn each other about dangerous clients and time wasters. In my area, besides using Mr. Number, some (especially Latins) have a WhatsApp group where they only share information about problematic clients. As far as I know, they don’t exchange details on good clients, those they seem to keep to themselves, probably to avoid competition. spidir, NJF, + Pensant and 1 other 4

You might be right, but that was just the impression I got. It’s also worth remembering that the UK and the US, Florida in my particular case, are very different markets with very different cultures. Hard to say for sure.

It’s not a zero sum game. There is room for all of us to do business with clients for whom we are well suited. I refer clients to other providers, and some refer clients to me. Occasionally, clients refer other clients. Many of us providers support one another and encourage one another, build each other up. Even some valuable mentorship relationships form. I have some of these myself in both directions. I continue to learn from peers and men who’ve worked longer in the business than I, and I take time to share knowledge and experience with men needing more guidance. 8 hours ago, JamesB said: providers do warn each other about dangerous clients and time wasters. ^You bet your boots we do. A general code of ethics among us is to not share clients’ personal information, unless it is for safety reasons, or when referring. We save one another the hassle of dealing with chronic time wasters, flakes, and of course the more serious cases of violence, stalking, the dine and dash guys, and other serious issues. Clients deciding to behave in such unacceptable ways forfeit their privacy. Concerned you are on some blacklist? Don’t be an asshole, and you have nothing to worry about. Simple as that. rvwnsd, mike carey, + Jamie21 and 3 others 3 2 1
GymGuy Posted August 24 Posted August 24 (edited) A few years ago, I had a provider who was once part of the Planet Jockboys network who came to my city each month or two. As he was beginning to phase out of the business he ask if he could recommend me as a client to another former jockboy he thought I would like. I agreed and it was a nice match. Then he phased out of the business as well. Several of the former Planet Jockboys shared info as to who was a good client and who to avoid. maninsoma Posted August 24 Posted August 24 In my earlier days of hiring (about 25-30 years ago), I hired lots of guys of Asian descent who advertised on Craigslist. I know that some of them knew each other because I'd have a new guy come over and he'd tell me that another guy I had previously hired had vouched for me being a good client. This happened more than once. I'm either unlucky or I've got a negative post about me on MrNumber or elsewhere because I've had a lot more flakes over the past decade as well as more guys who simply don't reply when I contact them. I asked an escort friend to look to see if he could find any negative mention of me somewhere and he said he didn't find anything, so maybe it just is that there are more flaky guys now.
+ PhileasFogg Posted August 24 Posted August 24 I subscribe to MrNumber. It’s not expensive. Get a short subscription to see if your number is clean + DrownedBoy 1
Whippoorwill Posted August 24 Posted August 24 In my experience providers know many of the others…they go to the same gyms, live in the same neighborhoods, read each other’s adverts, etc. I have had them ask who else I am seeing when they are looking for a new masseur, looking to rate other’s services against their own, ways to improve their services, etc. They have told me things about other providers and their services that I otherwise would not have known, recommended other providers they think I might like and vice-versa…all in a natural professional to professional way. I cannot imagine they don’t also say, “So and so may come see you, I told him you’d probably be good at the xyz he enjoys.” + Jamie21 1
aiseeya Posted Tuesday at 04:11 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:11 AM First hand experiences, most definitely. For better or worst. One situation resulting in a good referral and the other in complete chaos.
+ Alabastrine Posted Tuesday at 04:21 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:21 AM I just assume they do, reviews go both ways.
