Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon Jr. are the two individuals, more than anyone else, responsible for turning "professional" wrestling from a regional spectacle (promoters having different territories) into a worldwide phenomenon.

Hulk Hogan is the only man to have ever body slammed Andre the Giant:

Hogan was as big of an icon as there ever was in the sport. And he parlayed that popularity into the entertainment business. A true legend in the world of sports entertainment. Hulk Hogan paved the way for John Cena, Dwayne "the Rock Johnson", and many others.
Sounds like he suffered health problems in recent years. Have to wonder how much performance enhancing drugs may have played a role. RIP, another big one gets away.

Actually, that is a misleading post. Very misleading.
After the jury awarded Hulk Hogan a $115 million dollar award in his lawsuit, Gawker declared bankruptcy.  After a long, drawn out process, a settlement between the two parties was reached and the Hulkster walked away with $31 million.  Not a bad pay day, but nowhere close to $115 million. And certainly nowhere close to what Bozo was offered years ago for a copy of the sex tape video between Bozo and the circus bearded lady. That offer was ten bucks and 2 bottles of seltzer ☹️.

Never cared for WWE, I always found it absurd to get but hey, that's me. The few times I saw this guy on TV I always thought he was such a uninteresting person.

Then I watched the clip on TV last July of him ripping his shirt and well......🙄🤦‍♂️

I dont particularly care for WWF myself...but its wildly popular in middle America. Same as drag shows at gay bars. Even more absurd... but popular nonetheless .

SHOCKER!!

There is nothing shocking when you look at the source of this trash.
SBNation is not a mainstream sports site.  It is a fringe site owned and operated by VOX. Anyone that knows anything about VOX isn't surprised. This was not an article of facts. It was a baseless opinion piece filled with innuendo and lies. For instance the article calls Hogan an "egoist" The author, James Dator, a man who views every aspect of sports from his own extremist ideology, goes on for four paragraphs to cite a rumor that Hogan told Vince McMahon that Jesse Ventura was trying to start a wrestlers union. Based on that one unsourced item, Dator determined that Hogan is an egoist.

This article proves once again what most of us already knew. SBNation is an outlier, not part of legitimate mainstream sports journalism. They ran a hateful hit piece on a sports entertainment icon at a time when his body was still warm, and his family, friends, and tens of millions of fans worldwide were still grieving.
That is the only shocker.

Bozo wouldn't be surprised if Hogan's family sues SBNation. If they do, it will end up with Gawker, in the trash heap of fake sensationalized journalism.

They conjured the word "racist" several times without providing context or details of his purported rant. The spousal abuse, however was more detailed and perhaps more disturbing. Roid-rage is a serious problem in the industry. I wonder if it contributed to his death.

REST IN PEACE.

I never knew about how Hogan undermined Ventura’s unionization effort. A Google search produces more sources, including an interview clip with Ventura, that corroborate the story. SMH.

I remember when all of this was made public.  It was very disappointing for a lot of kids.
