+ JEC Posted March 1 Posted March 1 High West Campfire is a nice blend of Rye, Scotch and Bourbon. An Old Fashioned made from Campfire is a nice twist on a traditional Old Fashioned. Enjoy!
JayCeeKy Posted Sunday at 01:44 PM Posted Sunday at 01:44 PM Trivial Fact Per a 1964 Congressional Resolution, although ANY state in the US can produce alcohol labelled as "bourbon" only bourbon produced (and stored for at least one year) IN Kentucky can be labelled as "Kentucky Bourbon." To wit: "To be legally labeled "Kentucky Bourbon," the whiskey must be produced, distilled, and aged in Kentucky for at least one year. It must also meet federal standards: a mash bill of 51% corn, distillation at 160 proof, barreling at125 proof, aging in new charred oak containers, and bottling at 80 proof without added colors or flavors." Most Kentuckians take their bourbon drinking seriously, especially during Derby festivities (which began this past Saturday with Thunder Over Louisville - the largest annual fireworks display in North America), as it is the main ingredient in Mint Juleps, which I hate. I personally am not a fan of bourbon and prefer Vodka at it doesn't have as many "congeners" which worsen hangovers.
