Old enough to use obvious sarcasm in replying to your post.  I am also pretty sure that your take on Colbert is a propaganda feed is hyperbole.  He definitely has a point of view but if you watched with any regularity you would have heard many Biden jokes when Biden was in office.

You’re comparing apples & oranges, or maybe even apples & drywall.  I don’t have children either, but it is pretty much a unanimous belief that all of us as a society benefit by educating children, therefore, schooling is provided to each and every child regardless of parents’ ability to pay.  In stark contrast, support for taxpayer funding for PBS and NPR is nowhere near unanimous.  

We could debate item-for-item on the federal budget on another forum, but not here because that discussion would be far too political.

Back on topic … I heard a great line about Stephen Colbert’s cancellation:  “The Late Show” was losing $40 million a year.  Its cancellation isn’t censorship; it’s capitalism.

Snopes tried to validate the claim about the “$40 million loss a year.” They could not find credible sources, just media outlets quoting each other.  What is the source of your “great line”?

The original source of thr claim is Matthew Belloni, Puck's founding partner and author of the report on Colbert's show. He told Snopes that he obtained the information in his article "from multiple anonymous sources with knowledge of the show's finances." He added that the $40 million number was "subsequently confirmed by multiple outlets," including The Wall Street Journal.

Those protestors have no pride. I mean the guy is a no-talent bum. Nobody watches his depressing show. There are no advertisers, no audience, no decent guests, nothing except a loss running about $800,000 a week. That is a stunning amount of money for a business to lose each week especially when you have a loose cannon like this jerk badmouthing the owners every time they make a business decision with which he disagrees.
These morons think they are irreplaceable and no one can go on without them. People will get along very nicely without that depressing "comedy" show on television five nights a week, if that is when it was on. This guy is so conceited that he can't conceive that he was cancelled because he is a bitter, no-talent loser, and no one wants to hear his constant whining and complaints for an hour a night. He also couldn't imagine that no one wanted to hear his warped views either because there are very few people who share those whacked out views. So they right away blame the normal people in the country of a conspiracy to get rid of him.

His "brand" of humor alienated half of America - flyover country. And with what was left of the late night audience, he had to battle with Kimmel for their viewership. His appeal was to a limited, niche audience - the TDS infected, NY Times reading, MSNBC watching, Volvo driving, brie eating, Chablis drinking, lunatic fringe who think the View is actually entertainment. He just can't comprehend that he is not that important. No one really cares if his show is on or not because apparently no one watches it. Then he has a staff of two hundred people! Are you kidding me. That certainly sounds like your typical bloated liberal business model. What a loser. He should be thankful he was paid all the money he was over the last few years when he was on.
Bozo read somewhere that he made multiple millions a year, which is a disgrace, but he took it anyway. You'd think he would have as much class as the President and donate part or all, as the President does, of his salary to charity. Not going to happen.
