+ sync Posted July 17 Posted July 17 I remember her well. A very sad turn early in her career, while she was staying at a motel in Long Island an intruder invaded her room and had his way with her. She was a long time recovering from that trauma. TonyDown 1
TonyDown Posted July 18 Posted July 18 I follow Neil Sedaka, who was recently on a Caleb Simpson vlog. ❤️ Anyway, he credits Connie Francis for making one of his songs a hit. TikTok - Make Your Day WWW.TIKTOK.COM

Ali Gator Posted July 18 Author Posted July 18 She had a very troubled life from the day she was born. She was before my time by a few years, but I do remember the endless commercials advertising her album collections on afternoon TV (how dare they interrupt my viewing of 'Bewitched' and 'Gilligan's Island' reruns!) and she would always tour through my area in the summer to headline at our local 'outdoor theater / musical tent' for a week, doing concerts in the 70s and 80s. Our local news reporters would always manage an interview with her to promote her concert. + Vegas_Millennial 1
mtaabq Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Before Cher, before Madonna, before Rhianna, before Gaga, there was Connie Francis. So much will be said and written about her today. If I am correct she had 16 top-ten hits, a record that stood for 25-30 years before it was surpassed. She went on a TV variety show in the 50’s (or 60’s) and insisted on singing in Italian, against network advice, and got a lengthy standing ovation. So much more could be said. Her life took a sad turn but she kept fighting. Sad to think that she’s gone. RIP, Connie Francis. + Vegas_Millennial and + ApexNomad 2
+ BOZO T CLOWN Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Connie Francis was beautiful. Here she is fooling the panel on the second iteration of What's My Line in 1973. The Connie Francis appearance is at 17:02 of the video (the first two guests on the show were pretty interesting - the inventor of Egg Beaters and a cute gay French eyebrow stylist). Connie Francis at 17:02 BTC 🤡 + ApexNomad and + Vegas_Millennial 1 1
