Olympics or Only Fans? The choice for a young canoeist

A British canoeist has been banned from competing and says he is being forced to choose between his Olympic dream and his OnlyFans account.

Kurts Adams Rozentals, who competes in the individual canoe slalom, was suspended in April by governing body Paddle UK following "allegations" about his posts on social media.

Paddle UK removed Rozentals from their World Class Programme - UK Sport's lottery-funded initiative to put athletes on the course for the Olympics - pending an investigation.

While Paddle UK have refused to clarify the nature of the allegations, Rozentals suspects it is due to him creating content on subscription website OnlyFans, which is known for hosting adult content.

"I have been posting videos (on Instagram) that are consciously made to be edgy in order to drive conversions to my 'spicy content page' (on OnlyFans), to fund this ultimate dream of going to the Olympics," Rozentals told BBC Sport.

Rozentals, who has more than 10,000 'likes' on OnlyFans, has posted 39 videos and over 100 photos on the website.

He says he has earned more than £100,000 since creating his OnlyFans account in January.

He said he received a call from a Paddle UK representative last month to tell him that he was suspended from competing and could no longer contact any of the staff or athletes on the programme.

"I kind of froze and I couldn't believe the words I was hearing because this is what I put my life into this is everything I do," Rozentals added.

"My personality at this point, my identity, is sport and I want to be a professional athlete chasing my Olympic dream."

Rozentals created his own OnlyFans account in January 2025 in order to help fund his training programme and he posts videos and pictures on his Instagram account to drive viewers towards the content.

Each athlete on Paddle UK's programme receives an annual grant of £16,000 to support their training.

But Rozentals says the programme's funding is nowhere near enough.

"I don't know how much you need but it's certainly not £16,000," said Rozentals.

"When you have to cover rent, travel, food... and most athletes who train full-time are all living in London.

"They're very fortunate to have parent backing - I wasn't. I never had the ability to move to London because of financial struggles so I was always doing the travel from the East Midlands, where I live, to London, back-and-forth, back-and-forth."

Other Olympic athletes had OnlyFans accounts but none of them were jerking-off on camera. The other guys (mostly divers and swimmers) were posting butt shots, and peekaboo pubes pix. Nothing sexual.

The Olympics need to go back to being fully nude events.  This will balance the needs to put all players on an equal playing field during competition with the public's desire to admire these athletes.

For $8 measly bucks I joined his OFs to see what all of the fuss is about.  He's cute, but very young, kind of sweet in an innocent way, but very immature... boys brains don't mature until 25 years old +/-.  I'd say he's got a number of years to go.  Of course he grew up in the era of social media and easily accessible porn.  Unfortunately he's made some bad decisions.  I did a quick scan through his OFs videos and didn't see any full frontal nudity or cum shots.  It was all a bit boring.  Hopefully he comes out of all this notoriety unscathed.

What's missing from the story is - what rule did he violate ? What kind of contract did he sign with Paddle UK which prohibits what he does in his personal life ? Is it prohibited for an adult to legally provide 'adult content' on a private social media site  ?  So far, Paddle UK isn't saying (I think they mentioned that in the article).

He did say that he earns 16,000 pounds annually from Paddle UK (which doesn't even come close to covering his expenses). Maybe there's a cap on how much you can make in addition to that, and once he crossed the 100,000 mark they decided to cut him - he wasn't within the financial guidelines ?? Again - they haven't said.

I can see if he did something illegal, and was arrested for this. Paddle UK nor the Olympics would want a criminal as a competing athlete.  That's a pretty standard clause in every contract. But a 22 year old adult earning an income in a very legal way, doesn't cut it. (The female host also stressed that what he's doing is very legal). 

Time will tell, and maybe Paddle UK will come clean on exactly why they dropped him. As for the Olympics, unless they have some kind of 'code of conduct' which covers what you have done in your adult life before joining the Olympics, and they're very strict on prohibiting 'adult content' (and how do they define that?)  I think he will be fine. Otherwise, in 2025, they'd have no competing athletes.

If you're not seeing any full frontal or cum shots on his OF, you're not on the right tier.

All those types of contracts typically include a clause about "indecent, offensive, or immoral behavior," or something similar. I'm fairly certain that's the clause they're invoking in this case.

That's why I'd like to know what exactly Paddle UK dropped him for, and why aren't they saying ? I'd like to know the whole story.

The only thing is on reality shows, it's things the contestant did in the past (before joining the show) which they didn't reveal. 

This is different - he started his OF page after he signed up with Paddle UK.  This wasn't in his past which had to be revealed. But maybe he was supposed to let them know he was starting this ?  Again, there are many questions unanswered. I wish someone from Paddle UK would sit for an interview on 'Good Morning Britain' and set the record straight.

I agree. And although I'm normally a sucker for a young handsome man (pun completely intended), I don't find this particular young man especially alluring. His basic problem seems to be more or less equal parts of young and naive, with a dash or two of hubris. 

Wish him the best, but he needs better management.
