I have seasonal allergies, and I just learned that the price of tissues everywhere in America has risen 3 times what I usually pay. So I Googled to see what's up, and read that toilet paper is next in line. I care less about the price of eggs, because I can live without eggs. I can't live without tissues and toilet paper. Not good.

I buy at Costco and live alone so I only have to buy maybe twice a year. While everybody goes crazy every time there's a "toilet paper scare", I just check to make sure I still have at least a half a case to hold me over the next several months. I've learned to stock up on wipes too to be safe.

Ahhh... bidets! One of the luxuries of living abroad! I've though of having one installed but bathrooms are just way too damn small these days in the USA to accommodate one! This combo idea might be a solution. Thanks for sharing!

So I came home from Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam trip last October, and IMMEDIATELY ordered and installed this. It was in virtually every bathroom I went in, even a “trench” style squat bathroom. Yes, it’s cold water. I’ve loved it and used it ever since, brief wash, and dry with a tiny bit of toilet paper which by the way stays remarkably white!

It’s cheap, effective, and takes up no room nor needs electricity.

The electrical issue is the problem for most people in their bathroom. Particularly if they RENT their place.

But if you can swing it...the luxury of WARM water, instead of a COLD bidet hose is worth every penny.

I wish I could afford a $1500 Toto, and the plumber to install it. I wish I had room for a bidet. After traveling to Europe for the first time on business, I was elated when I figured out what a bidet was used for, and could never understand why they weren't a thing in America.

I may have to start collecting tree leaves, which aren't that easy to find in Manhattan.

But I'd buy in bulk size tissue and toiler paper to save as much money as you can. You're gonna use it eventually for sure.

Having two houses that I fly between and a CostCo account, I’m confident that I have enough tp to last 5 years!

That's what I normally do, but the facial tissues are almost gone. My last purchase was a year ago.

I haven't bought a box of Kleenex in years

Kleenex is not the brand I prefer. My nose skin is sensitive, and I get better results with a different brand. Unfortunately, nose tissues are more important to me than toilet paper, although toilet paper is important too. I take four meds for the asthma, and my nose is constantly running. The shit that happens when you get old.

Last year, I paid $4.40 for the 3-pack/180 count each. Today, Amazon wants $12.50 for the 3-pack, and they're the cheapest out there. Walmart is charging $16.80, except they're out-of-stock.

My dad used to use handkerchiefs to blow his nose.

When I wear a suit, which is very rare, I use them, but they get used up fairly quickly with all the drainage, and I find that a bit gross, although I can handle that. I actually have better luck with using old Calvin Klein t-shirts cut-up, because the cotton is extremely soft and gentle on my skin. To stay within a monthly budget, I may have to rely on cotton.

What is the reason tissues and tp are going up in price ?

Simply Google, "what is going on with the high cost of facial tissues?"

Fear.  People read somewhere prices are going to go up, then people start panic buying and stockpiling, adding to scarcity and hirer prices, and the cycle continues.

There is damn good reason to be fearful. Not good to go through life with your eyes closed.

Silly me. I just realized the $12.50 offer is without Prime delivery. It's not coming from Amazon, and I don't recognize the seller, who wants $12 for shipping 1 package. Even worse, they promise delivery some time in July. Give me a break. The horror is just beginning.
