She will be remembered as one of the most brilliant ground-breaking entertainers ever. Thats Madonna.

Never afraid of talking about sex, Madonna changed the way people perceived gay sex and vastly improved the lives of those having it by campaigning to publicise...

I sincerely doubt that.

Seriously ?

unless you've been living under a rock for the last 40 years. Yes, seriously

You don't need to like her or her music to acknowledge her influence & activism   and I’m not a huge fan of the music - there’s a difference: Madonna the artist vs Madonna as a cultural force

to deny it is ridiculous - read the NYT piece, it’s all there

Will she be thought of as ground breaking because by that time she will have had so much surgery she will look as though she rose up from a grave?

She will be the Frankenstein of the 21st century! 🤣 Take that, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley.

Love RuPaul dishing Madonna. And Cumberbatch standing up to her. 🤣

RuPaul remembers encountering Madonna back in the early days of both of their careers.

Taking this slightly off subject....

Please don’t hold back and tell us what you think, Patti! 🤣 yes, I had seen that (in)famous interview clip. Now that we’re on a roll, here are Messing and McCormack on Madonna’s guest appearance on “Will & Grace.” Enjoy.

Perhaps she  might be remembered  for  re inventing  herself  and her act

I remember Madonna Ciccone for making a lot of money considering her minor talent as a singer. She has always  surrounded herself with creative people who actually have talent. The production value of the shows reputedly make up for her limited vocal skills.

Outside the environment of pyrotechnics, costume and choreography, the woman literally needed to take months of voice lessons to manage the film role of Evita Peron and even then, she embarrassed herself when paired against Antonio Banderas who's performance blew her out of the water (and no one even knew that Antonio could sing or dance, being known only as an actor) !

Lupone is 100% correct. I've suffered through my share of 'Madonna' movies - including 'Evita'. She's awful.

It was so sad. I know she wanted that role so bad and Antonio Banderas blew her out of the water in comparison. And we didn't even know that Antonio could sing or dance before Evita !

I never knew Cher called Madonna the C-word until I saw the videos in this thread. Holy shit. That is outspoken, something you almost never see from Hollywood types. Also, for Cher to criticize Madonna's singing voice, that's a bit rich given how limited Cher's voice is. Still, hard not to love Cher. So many of us grew up with her.

Speak for yourself! 😊

Evita premiered in 1996. But plenty of people at that time remembered him singing in both "Mambo Kings" (1990) and "Desperado" (1995). Banderas doesn't consider himself a great singer, but what he does on the screen is pretty great for "only an actor."

He sang on Broadway in Nine in 2003. He's also sung on stage in Spain in some musicals.

"I love singing, but I love singing attached to some dramatic purpose—not as a pop singer," the 63-year-old explained. "I'm not a pop singer. I like to tell a story when I'm singing and that is something that you can do in musical theater."

Cher is an alto so her voice is lower in range, and deeper but has a great tone. I don’t think Madonna has a great singing voice. It’s not bad, but just passable. If anyone’s voice is limited I would say it’s Madonna’s.

just my opinion, but I think denigrating people based on looks is always in poor taste & shows a certain ignorance. especially when it’s men discussing women who are aging in a very public environment

as they say, beauty fades - but stupid is forever

It kind of comes with the territory of being a public figure. Madonna is a celebrity. I don’t think she deserves to be ridiculed. But people will always comment about famous celebrities’ looks male or female.

let’s be realistic - it far more often women than men.  And usually it’s about a woman’s weight and/or age.  There is no equivalency between cultural critiques of looks re: men/woman.  It’s a relic of the patriarchy and just shows whomever is participating is probably much older, out- of-touch w norms today & ignorant.

definitely, bc there will always be very stupid people engaged in very dumb things……..  haven’t you heard, Taylor Swift is a CIA asset ???

True, I guess.

Madonna does not deserve this level of ridicule

It's an anonymous forum where we mostly talk about escorts.

We're glad to see some today are taking the high road.
