....Can he be a regular host on the panel, please ?

....only if the pre-taping breakfast buffet includes: donuts, pies, cheese puffs, double stuff Oreos, Ring Dings, Ding Dongs, Twinkies, brownies, eclairs, and other assorted pastries.
Wouldn't the studio cameras also have to be fitted with extra wide-angle lenses?

The season has officially ended on August 2. They are off for about a month, returning for Season 28 on Tuesday, September 3 in a brand new location (downtown Manhattan) in a brand new state of the art studio, which they talked about on their last show. All six hosts are expected to return, no one is leaving in the next month.

I was too lazy to start a new topic.

The full show is now posted to youtube sans commercials in the afternoon daily.  I watch it on 1.25 speed; you can fully understand, but it takes less time to watch.

Funny moment from today:

To me it sounds like a bunch of chickens all clucking in a hen house. That's a stereotypical description but that's literally what they sound like. They constantly interrupt and talk over each other. They perpetuate the stereotype of catty, gossipy, shallow women.

Reminds me of this line from the motion picture "Life with Father":

Do you mean to tell me that a pack of idle minded females pay $1 apiece to hear another female gavel about the events of the day!?

There are rumors  'originating behind the scenes' that Sunny Hostin wants to exit the show before her contract is up at the end of next season. Some are saying she's negotiating an early exit after next month's 'February sweeps' while others say she wants out after 'May sweeps' (and take June and July off).  There are many reasons why she's asking to leave the show (according to the rumors) - the hostility between her and Alyssa, the hostility between her and Anna, and the legal problems her husband Manny is facing from the Federal government which is difficult for her not to address on the show.

Stay tuned VIEWers...

Speaking of the Federal RICO lawsuit which has accused orthopedic surgeon Manny Hostin for insurance fraud :

As a former 'federal prosecutor' (as she reminds us at least once a week on the show), Sunny has assured us time and time again that the Feds do not publicly go after someone unless there is " 99.99% proof that they can press charges against the person and put them in jail ".

Right, Sunny ?  You've been saying this for the past few years during 'Hot Topics'.  So it's time for you to sit down with Paloma and Gabriel to have 'the difficult conversation' of  "why daddy committed fraud against the insurance company and will probably be going to jail."

Although I've personally, never watched the show,  I occasionally see clips from "The View" on Rita Panahi's segment on Sky News. The dialogue always seems so unhinged and loaded with conspiracy theories that it saddens me to think this is a "widely watched" program.  US television is quickly becoming a sea of extremist, shock value, opinions. Respectable Journalism is dead.

Rita Panahi? She's a fringe right wing Australian commentator, so I would treat anything she posted with extreme caution. Several kilos of salt.

Thanks Mike I am aware that Sky News is a "far right" opinion broadcast.

I only follow Rita ..not the rest of Sky News.

I just find her trashing of the extreme opinions in the media to be deeply funny.  The clips of "The View" speak for themselves. They deserved to be ridiculed. Rita takes on the polar opposite of what Jon Stewart, targets on the Daily Show.

My opinion is that the majority of ALL popular media has devolved to far right and far left opinion pieces. The extremes of both are worthy of ridicule..

"The View" is not a news show, nor are there any journalists associated with it. It's never been promoted as 'respectable journalism', so if that's what you're looking for, you've gone to the wrong show.

No, not a news show, but they do pretend to be a political analisis show, which is laughable given the abject ignorance of some members of the panel.  For example, Whoopi Goldberg once proposed that Dr. Jill Biden should become US Surgeon General.

Just about every talk show these days pretends to be a political analysis show - that's what's trending right now on television, and bringing in high ratings.

And I have seen members of other shows (many copycats of 'The View') with abject ignorance giving their proposals on administrative appointments - such shows as 'The Five'  and 'Outnumbered', both airing on FOX to high ratings.

In the end, all these shows have the same premise: not to be a 'news show' but to be a show where the hosts with different backgrounds and lifestyles can share their opinions and views on what's in the headlines today. If anyone is looking for 'respectable journalism' from any of these shows, they'll be very disappointed.

Agree with the comments here. Unfortunately, so many viewers are unable to discern the difference between news and infotainment. Consequently, these types of shows do little more than widen the divide and entrenchments.  Garbage in, garbage out.

I haven't seen an actual NEWS program aired on any American broadcast network in some time.

In the 90's I used to love CNN. Now it's literally a joke.

All of this is a very sad state of affairs.
