Does anyone ever get City Envy?

Sometimes I scroll through RM providers in New York City, Las Vegas, Miami, Los Angeles or Toronto, and I get "City Envy" for the people who live there. So many great options. But the city I envy the most in London. Man oh man! While London is just a great trip in general, I'd really like to partake of its RM offerings at some point in life.

Do you ever get City Envy, and which city or cities do you think has a great slate of providers?

US City envy... no. City in another country... definitely yes. There are so many incredibly built guys listing as bottom/vers bottom/versatile, the type of which in the US, tend to list as ask me or top.

In the US I can bring people in to see me or go to them if I choose. My biggest issue here is time followed by costs. Bringing someone from overseas or going to them is an impossibility mostly. Time and costs become a even bigger problem. Dealing with an unknown person from another country ups the drawbacks for me even more.

I only have brought in one guy from Argentina, but we had met in the US and have a long standing client/provider relationship. So it made it easier. Especially since I knew who I was seeing when I opened the door.

Yes. There are 2-3 cities in California that are just off the charts with amazing guys that meet my criteria. I'm not too hurting for choice at all (I think as of the latest run there are 73 providers in my city that meet my general search criteria, of course individual inspection will produce many fewer). I think New York is also a bit better than where I am, and I have seen really interesting profiles there, but not on the scale of Cali.

But I also just had the most amazing experience with a rentboy in my city, and I'm confident he'll become my go-to. So it may not really matter for some time 😂.

I sort of envy cities where there are guys I'd lust after, but in reality it doesn't matter how many hot (or otherwise desirable) guys are there, if they won't talk to me they mean nothing to me. I have a regular and a list of men I want to meet, I can meet them when they come here or if I go where they are. My envy, to the extent that I have it, is directed at men and their ads, not the cities where they live.

I usually like taking a break from Chicago and spending time in my Wisconsin house, but I end up missing the access to escorts when I'm there.

I've had at least one occasion, when traveling in.. kind of a backwater place, where I found a real "boy-next-door" that led to some great times. I want to say there was a second time like that, but I can't specifically identify it. Similarly, I don't immediately ignore mostly blank profiles on Grindr (I do like to see at least age and height/weight and maybe some other basics) because I've had a handful of situations come up where they really ended up being my type and leading to similarly nice times 🤣.

Nothing beats one to three good go-to guys.

I'm thinking of retiring to a quieter, less expensive place. But one drawback is being away from a good hiring area. Although I'm not sure that alone would stop me. But it is a checkmark in the "con" column.

Yeah, in my area, all the Grindr ads are blank too, and I almost always ignore them.

Once I had a guy proposition me on Grindr in that area, but closeted, married farmers who want someone to drop by quickly aren't my type.

I'd say that's generally the way it should go. But there is the odd guy that turns out amazing, and after meeting him you wonder why the heck he doesn't post photos and more info (probably just being "discreet").

Maybe I'll just be more explicit. I don't know whether it was just the time and place (North Dallas about 6-11 or so years ago), which it may well have been since I haven't really seen it more recently in Chicago, but there were just a huge number of young, super hot Latino guys with mostly blank profiles on Grindr. Not sure what was going on (maybe having a Grindr profile was just less acceptable among them in that area?).
