Well...part of this whole issue is about identity. I had friends in high school who were gay and I could tell they were gay. So of course ..I had zero interest. NONE of guys on any of the sports teams identified as "gay". But those are the guys I wanted ! So..I just stuck to fucking girls. Getting an athlete seemed impossible.

YEARS later, one of my other wrestling buddies "came out", after being married and raising two kids. I asked him what made him think he was "gay". He answered that he always knew and had fooled around with some guys in high school. ...Now we ran in the same circles and everybody always seemed to know who was sleeping with who...so I found that comment very surprising. I asked him WHO he was having sex with..and he listed half the guys on wrestling team !! I knew ALL those guys and I had ZERO idea that any of them swung that way. Most are all now married with kids, (as I am myself.) I wonder how many of them still get a little on the side. I'm sure they ALL identify as nothing but straight.

As far as my buddy who went on to coaching, I think he was stuck in a time warp. He fooled around with guys on the high school wrestling team while in high school and that allowed him to avoid the "gay" label. His sexuality seems to have been frozen in that reality and used his coaching position to continue his secret sex life. Sadly, high school parents don't look fondly on a 30 year old man sucking off their 17 year old son. So he took a gun to his head to avoid the shame of it all. Very sad. He was such a sweetheart, and very cute.

I think to quite a lot of them it's just basically assisted masturbation, so they don't even really view it as sex. It feels good, so they do it, they aren't, say, looking at the guy and getting spontaneously turned on by the sight of him. It's more that they're horny and the other guy is there. And this is how so many gay boys get their hearts broken.

I went to high school in Rochester NY. It is one of those kind of towns that a lot of people don't leave after they finish their education. Whenever I went back to visit family, I was always surprised at the guys that I knew in high school who turned up in the gay bars. One of them was a wrestler who had a jaw-dropping physique. He also had an unusual face that made you think of a bulldog or a pug with striking blue eyes. I wasn't that attracted to him in HS but years later - when I saw him in a gay bar, I just thought "Wow!!"
