Same here. The gay attraction seems so obvious now, especially as we look at these images, but I and my teammates were largely oblivious to it then.

It's funny because two of my closest friends in college were pretty serious wrestlers and they are 100% straight and they swear up and down that there were pretty much no gay wrestlers. I just think they were oblivious because they had no idea about me until I told them at 30. And they were from towns where I think a gay teen might actually be risking his life by coming out.  They don't really think those aspects through.

I imagine he was working very hard not to give out any signs. I know I was in HS/college. We are the age cohort that is probably the most fucked up about being gay...most of us figured it out just as it seemed everyone who was was getting a fatal incurable disease.

How old was he when this happened?
