Any experience with Wegovy?

I read most of the thread so apologies if I'm tripping over anything. 
 

-late 40s  used to be very fit  outta shape last 5-6 yrs

- have some GI issues (IBS) that appeared off on 10 years. More regularly /  intermittently last 3

- used wegovy 16 mos ago. Low doses. No effects good or bad. As I progressed to higher doses weight started to come off. No side effects. 
 

then changed jobs and lost coverage. I'd def try again

I've been off Ozempic for 6 months and seem to be holding between having gained back 3-4 pounds, depending on how long after I poop I weigh myself.

But then again, I never got super skinny and was already back to eating like a normal person before I stopped it. (out of boredom and/or a desire for a nosh, rather than out of hunger.)

Guys let's keep it simple: you're what you eat! It's also a matter of doing math between intake and exercise.

A pill WON'T solve the national tragedy of obesity!

This is my first month on it and I’ve had no side effects. I’ve lost about 10 lbs. I usually feel full after a meal and I am not tempted to snack on anything; I am making wiser choices about my calorie intake. If you go on it, be sure to eat 3 meals a day and a snack between lunch and dinner. Essentially, eat every 3 hours, and try to gravitate towards proteins and good carbs. This will keep your metabolism going so when you eat you’re burning it.

I am over a year on Ozempic. I have lost 40 pounds, but moreover, I have lost none of my appetite. I need to exercise a lot to keep from gaining weight. My sugar desire has not subsided. Doc does not expect I will lose any more weight.

As for diabetes, my A1c is terrific.

I lost 20% of my body weight at a rate of one pound a week. I’m now a few pounds below the goal weight I described above. I opted not to take GLP1s.

I just hope we don't get accustomed to think everything could be solved just by taking a pill/injection. 

I have a friend who is on wegovy but the results are not as magical as he expected.  He's a proud antivaxxer but when he heard about a pill to lose weight, fully trusted it, never even bother using google to find any conspiracy theory, threaten his primary care physician with going Doctor shopping if he didn't prescribe it to him as soon as possible.

Draw your own conclusions!

I’ve been on Ozempic since last August, I’ve lost nearly 50 lbs . I stayed on 1 mg (the lower clinical dose) because I wanted to lose slowly - 1 lb a week. I didn’t want my skin to be flabby or look gaunt. So far; I have very little loose skin; most of it has snapped back really well. 

Not only did it suppress my appetite, it removed my compulsive eating. Prior to Ozempic, I was running 3 days a week and boxing once a week. I was eating well and within a normal caloric range but I could not stop late night eating. I did therapy, hypnosis, etc. Nothing worked. 

For those saying “just stop eating so much”, please do some research. We didn’t go from having 5% of the adult population overweight in the 1950s to more than 50% now bc half of people lost willpower. No, it’s mostly agricultural policy and FDA’s lax regulation of food that is very bad for us. And designed to be addictive. 

I just started back to strength training, and I’m going to see how I do over the next 3-4 months. If I get where I want to be, I’ll probably lower the dose.

Bigotry is not truth. I've known many overweight women who have no shortage of suitors. Most straight men prefer women with tits and asses, not rake-thin models. PCOS and other conditions that predispose women to both weight gain and difficulty conceiving are very real, so your comment is both inaccurate and mean-spirited. 

I will never understand how a gay man who lives in NYC in 2024 can still harbor such ugly beliefs.

Nice job!  I'm taking the Lowest dosage of ,06 of another drug.  It turns off the overeating switch. I'm slowly losing and just the way I want.  Skin is looking good.  I have always done weight training and other type of martial arts. This is just a practice round to see if it had side effects.  You can't control the weight loss from bariatric surgery.  But everyone has there own choice of weight loss.  It is very personal and I respect that.

Just have to add my opinion of Wegovy. The TV commercials for it have defiled/bastardized a great song from The Greatest Showman (This Is Me). 😡😡😡

Thus, I want nothing to do with Wegovy. Anyone want to join me in this boycott?
