Felicitations and fabulous follies my familiar fellows!

I am in the odd predicament of indecisive stagnation. Fortunately I have enough time and money to take a vacation this year and no previous obligations. 🎉🪩

In the past I've always known precisely where I I would travel to and what I've wanted to do. Confoundedly though, I cannot choose between my top picks. I bow and scrape to my fellow salubrious sexy travelers, where-oh-where may I find a content heart, a full belly, and gratified loins?

Listed in order of desire, here are my top pics:

1. Brazil, not sure where

2. Peurto Varrarta

3. Barcelona

4. Costa Rica

5. Prague

I may or may not hire a travel companion. I've never done that before and fear it may be outside my budget.

Any and all observations or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mexico is becoming more and more dangerous in the current political climate.  On my last trip to Puerto Vallarta a few weeks ago, the streets and airport were overrun with tanks, military vehicles, and armed militia.  I'm going to wait a few years before going back.

I haven't been to Prague or Barcelona yet, but those locations would be on my short list for summer/autumn travel.

I was just in PV, as well as CDMX and Monterrey.  No tanks, no automatic weapons, no fear.

Mexico's border towns have always had a level of danger.  Much of the interior isn't any more dangerous than Chicago, LA or NYC when it comes to day-to-day murders and crime.

Mexico gets a bad rap from a fearful middle America.  It's a wonderful country and an easy place to visit.

I would tend to agree.  Given the millions of people who visit every year, the number of tourist incidents are quite low.  Maybe not as low as some destinations, but not high enough to dissuade me from travelling there.  Of course if someone is into the drug scene, or likes hitting on gangster's girlfriends, you might find yourself in trouble.  But for someone like me who travels to experience the culture, the weather, the beaches, and the kindness of the local population, Mexico is hard to beat.  I've been at least 10 times, and have never felt unsafe whether staying at a beach resort or in one of the towns/cities.

I agree that Mexico gets a bad rap - it’s not some dystopian Spanish speaking “Mad Max” world. Like anywhere - Chicago, Paris, Rome - be aware of your surroundings, and know where to avoid.

As far as sexcations go, I’ve always enjoyed PV; I liked Prague, but preferred Budapest and Vienna - tho a friend swears by Bratislava. Barcelona is fun, but again I enjoyed Madrid more.

It really depends on the type of sexcation you want - beachy, resort type vacation; a destination with plenty to do and see outside the bedroom; what types of guys you’re  looking for; are you looking only to hire or looking to be welcomed by locals. I always think it’s a good investment of one’s time to look in the apps and RM in the city you’re considering, see what’s out there on both fronts.

For example, I like to “shop local” when I’m travelling. I don’t want to be like the tourists who go to McDonald’s in Copenhagen vs sampling the local cuisine. I’m in the UK and Ireland fairly regularly for work, and family. It’s very hit and miss to find a local provider in London - plenty of hot men, but not many British. But if you look, you can find them. Whether they’ll be your type is another story.  In Ireland it’s practically a desert. In the former I’ll look thru RM, SleepyBoy, and Hunqs for providers. In Ireland it’s all about the apps.

Having said all this, remember everything is subjective. Just because Bob had non-stop sex in Costa Rica, doesn’t mean you will. Pick a place you want to go to first, then start planning your sexcapades!

Good Luck!

I'm three weeks back from Puerto Vallarta. I saw no tanks, military vehicles or armed militia. I saw a lot of older Americans who winter there. While it may lurk below the surface,I saw no evidence of crime. The streets in Zona Romantica were packed weekend nights and there was no evidence of crime. At the Beach I was asked if I wanted a foot massage or to buy some shells more times than I would have preferred 😀 but, counting my blessings, I always offered a polite, "No gracias."

I can't wait to return.

Any way you can convince Bob to contribute some material to the True Travel Sex Stories thread?  LOL

Respectfully; that is old information. Narco-terrorism is a real problem in Mexico and it's spreading into most of the minor resort areas too.  To date, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and Cancun have managed to negotiate an understanding with the drug cartels to allow their streets free of the violence. But other areas like Playa del Carmen, Guadalejara and Acapulco are becoming increasingly dangerous, beyond comparison to the US cities you've mentioned.

Yes, the border towns have always been sketchy, but now many of them are 100% under control of drug cartels and completely off limits to US. tourists, with murders in the 10's of thousands annually. The states of Nuevo Leon and Veracruz being the most dangerous.

I've been all over the country and have many friends there. There are multiple destinations I have been to, that I wouldn't risk visiting today.

I too would suggest Barcelona. It has all the attributes of a great city (music, theatre, art) located by the sea and combined with many good restaurants and friendly locals.

It also is on the high speed train network so you could also visit other cities in Spain (eg Seville, Cordoba, Madrid) and France (eg Montpellier and Paris).

To the South, there is Sitges of course. And to the North, there is some beautiful countryside and villages with good hotels (it is very popular with Catalans).

Just as in the US, risk of violence in Mexico varies widely depending on where you go. Just because I wouldn't walk around the Tenderloin in SF, nor the South Bronx, doesn't mean the entire country is unsafe. This is what the US State Department has to say about travel in Jalisco, where PV is located:

"Violent crime and gang activity are common in parts of Jalisco state. In Guadalajara, territorial battles between criminal groups take place in tourist areas. Shooting incidents between criminal groups have injured or killed innocent bystanders. U.S. citizens and LPRs have been victims of kidnapping.

U.S. government employees must adhere to the following travel restrictions:

  • Jalisco-Michoacan border and Federal Highway 110: U.S. government employees may not travel to the area between Federal Highway 110 and the Jalisco-Michoacan border, nor travel on Federal Highway 110 between Tuxpan, Jalisco, and the Michoacan border.
  • Federal Highway 80: U.S. government employees may not travel on Federal Highway 80 south of Cocula.
  • State Highway 544: U.S. government employees may not travel on State Highway 544 between Mascota and San Sebastian del Oeste.

There are no other restrictions on travel for U.S government employees in Jalisco state which includes tourist areas in: Guadalajara Metropolitan AreaPuerto Vallarta (including neighboring Riviera Nayarit)Chapala, and Ajijic."

In any case, one's risk of being a victim of a violent crime are greater in Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paolo than in Puerto Vallarta.

Between Prague, Barcelona and Sao Paulo, which city offers the most fucks for the same bucks?

Brazil and Columbia will always win out in that aspect. $25.

Barcelona is $50 in Thermas sauna for a 40-minute session. (Paragonya sauna in Zurich is $100). But in both places Rentmen and Hunqz can be very lacking for escort outcall dates (which are $150).

Many of us used to fly to Budapest when Action Bar was open.  Too much to describe. And a supermarket of carry-outs to boot (not that many people felt compelled to leave the bar to have any sort of sex). R.I.P.

Czech is where 9/10 gay porn stars the last 30 years live. It's a vocational course in high school. Sadly many of those stars are passing 30 which is fatal in Europe. But they are easily available online for precise appointments although the price is up tp $200 now. (Germany is cheaper).

I like to pick up Czech guys and take them to Stiges for a few days.
