I’m a masseur but since there is no masseur sections, I’m going to post here since there are escorts have much very similar lifestyles. I went on hiatus from massage once Covid hit. I massage on the side, I have a full time career job, but am I the only one that is on hiatus that feels a void from not doing being to take their clients. I miss my business and It has almost nothing to do with money because my full time career job pays me well (although I do miss the extra money A LOT, but I miss MY business, my sessions, experiences with clients, being in complete control of my business. With things being shut down in LA its tough to find things to fill that void. Are any of you who are on hiatus feeling similar? If so, what are you doing to manage those feelings?

Count your blessings and be grateful of your position. Some of us have left the workforce all together, and now trying to figure out whether to go back or keep on grinding. Even worse, trying to get back into it after so many years, is nothing short of a mirage.

At the same time, as I’ve said before...I am not on hiatus (even though I’ve let my Rentmen ad go, but that’s more because it’s been dead and a waste of time in my area. I’m also timing it so I don’t have to renew again before Halloween). I don’t have any reason to let the virus hinder my continuing in the business. Even periodic shutdowns and cases rising have no bearing on my decision. I’m just glad the majority of the same clients who were in touch with me last year, still in contact this year.

Of course even my decisions can’t override trends and what’s actually going on. I’m not on hiatus but I still feel a void many days. ?

There is a massage forum and it's called "The Spa" where everything massage related is discussed.

  • 1 month later...

There are likely a set of protocols which if you and your clients follow, it would be low (not no) risk to see some clients again. Testing, masks for starters. I am an indoor cycling instructor and started teaching again about 2 months ago, the gym has pretty strong protocols in place and I am getting myself tested monthly as a precaution.

I cannot even imagine. When I was in DC, I didn't have time to make friends outside of escorting because I was gone for long periods at a time. I also felt like my escorting crowd understood what quickly became a really important part of my life and I didn't have to explain anything or feel judged.

Yes!!!! It’s definitely a social connection with clients. I’m looking forward to being able to start seeing my massage clients again.
