I was wondering - does anyone know a case where someone was arrested for meeting after seeing each other on Rentmen.com?

I personally have not. Though i do know an escort who told me that when he first started out 6+ years ago or so (who used to have a profile on RM) that he was caught up in a sting for a misdemeanor. He was in a heavily trafficked touristy area and he had flirted with someone who turned out to be undercover vice and was booked for solicitation. But it wasn't from a booked profile encounter.

That being said, (not being political, but just answering the question from a different standpoint) with the likely new world order of the collapse of the police state in America, I would hope that a sensible next leader, could pass a bill that refrains police from intervening on situations (such as bogus entrapment operations) that don’t create imminent bodily harm or property loss

 

And considering I’ve pretty much had to “police” myself all these years, I think other businesses could adopt a way to handle situations without involving police too. Because they are part of the problem, that’s why their windows are getting smashed out and burned. Police aren’t needed for every little thing. And if I were to be arrested going to a hotel to meet a client, best believe they would be getting a shitty review, and some.

 

Now the only other case that I know personally of, is a client who told me there was a sting set on a “escort” in a hotel. But this particular person was getting clients in and doing some unscrupulous things. That’s the only reason why.

It was all just scare tactics, when I went back a few weeks later (making sure the same guy wasn't at the desk), they let me in without question.

That did remind me that an escort told me that when he traveled for work he would avoid doing bookings in Vegas Hotels as every once in a while he had heard the Hotels themselves would encourage vice to do stings if the Hotel thought they were getting too much attention and known for allowing the practice to proliferate too much at their properties. I booked an appointment with a provider on RM I have never met. I was going to meet him at his hotel. When I got there, there was a long delay in his reply to give the room number. I've definitely been spooked by the police cars in the parking lot situation on more than one occasion. This was when I first got in the military way before DADT was lifted and you could really get in some serious trouble with both the civilian and military courts.

The blackmailer may have a lot less to lose. I'm thinking of the head of BP, John Browne, whose escort became his boyfriend, then they broke up, and he was blackmailed for quite awhile. When he cut off the payments, the escort went public about him, and Browne felt obliged to step down from his super-lucrative job as head of BP. (I don't know what happened to the escort legally.)

(heck, this city is known for LE soliciting escorts on all platforms, as well as pose as escorts on FREE platforms). And yes, I know of very good clients as well as escorts in this city who have been arrested due to that. These are all sting operations by local LE.

When checking RM, for example, from the client’s perspective are there telltale signs to watch for? Do any hotels keep eyes open and watch for “our” sort of activity? If you’re gonna be stung, how’s it most likely to go down?

No, but I know an escort who was arrested in Las Vegas. An undercover police officer showed up at his room, handcuffed him in the closet, went through his agenda (this was before iphones) arrested all the guys who made plans to see him, arrested other working guys and girls and placed him later on in a cell where he met a guy who was going to hire him.

 

I've heard of other arrests in Oklahoma, Texas, Boston and Miami-Ft. Lauderdale.

I've noticed a lot of "new" profiles with either looking for gen or gen in the profile name. They disappear pretty quickly so not sure if they get reported or what the deal is. But I talked to one kid and his pics didn't look like the same person. I asked him to come over and he never showed up but a police cruiser did, fortunately I wasn't around and I never gave an address. Last Friday I responded to a guy who said he was from out of town and looking and made me an offer. He showed up acting sketchy and looked like your typical cop. Said he didn't want to do this and that I looked nothing like my pics but offered me some money for my time. I politely declined and told him to have a nice stay in town. I blocked him right afterwards but then when I went to look at my blocks his profile was gone the next day.
