Shout it from the rooftops! Hearing this repeated kills me. Cops are 100% allowed to lie in the pursuit of their duties. How else would they stay "undercover"?

Reminds me of a scene in the web series "Hustling". The main character's bestie, a personal trainer, begins to escort. He meets a guy, they each do some drugs, and presumably have sex. Afterwards, as the trainer is ready to leave, he asks for his money. The client, takes out his badge, and arrests him.

Never been arrested but I got a good scare from this experience years ago.

I booked an appointment with a provider on RM I have never met. I was going to meet him at his hotel. When I got there, there was a long delay in his reply to give the room number. After about 15 minutes, he sends me a text telling me he is law enforcement conducting a sting in the area. I panicked! I took the battery and sim card off my phone and left the area in a hurry.

Still horny from the previous night, I booked another provider the next day to meet at another hotel. Guess what! There were about 3 police cars on the hotel parking lot. I freaked out!!!

I’ve already met this second provider before so I felt safe calling him. I asked for some time to sort things out. Long story short, the presence of the police had nothing to do with me. I had a good time with this second escort. Calming my nerves with his hugs and kisses was a hot plus.

By the way, I got to meet the first provider at a later time. His sting story was just a prank gone bad. I still call him “Officer”, he calls me “Naughty Boy”. He has “arrested” me many many times after that first encounter ?

Officer!! Arrest me too!! ????

Many years ago, I was a probation officer. Good pay, long hours, learned a lot. Didn’t hire at all during this time, but I did have several hookups when I was out of town. My badge was in a flip-over leather holder. Met a guy at a bar, went back to his place. As we‘re ripping each other’s clothes off, my badge fell on the floor and of course, it opened. The guy absolutely freaked out beyond words. I kept yelling that I wasn’t a cop, but he didn’t believe me - just went nuts. It was definitely my fault, and I apologized as much as possible. He finally calmed down but by then the mood was broken. Yeah, it was risky, but I was several states away from home. And young, and naive.

So why would a non-hire guy you met at a bar flip out about your badge? I would totally go into role play mode... ?

I personally have not. Though i do know an escort who told me that when he first started out 6+ years ago or so (who used to have a profile on RM) that he was caught up in a sting for a misdemeanor. He was in a heavily trafficked touristy area and he had flirted with someone who turned out to be undercover vice and was booked for solicitation. But it wasn't from a booked profile encounter.

Wow what bad luck

No, there isn't much of that. The demand isn't there as the clients can find providers legally, so they don't look on the streets from what I can tell. (And I'm not in a red-light area.)

Thanks for your kind thoughts, I've worked through it, and I'm fine so far.

Street workers do exist, there are certain parts of our big cities where there are street workers. They tend to be cheaper and nastier than what you will find in legal brothels and people operating on their own either outcalls or i calls, which is legal.

I work in a police emergency center, police dispatching and 911 calls, and we even get calls from customers who have been to brothels and not happy with the service provided. Yes the police do attend and sort the issues out.

I had this same discussion with a guy I hired a month ago. The hotel he was at was the kind that was long term and cheap....upon my arrival the place was infested with cops. Luckily I had met this guy before so I knew there was no problem. He was stunned when I told him there were cops all over the parking lot. He told me something that disturbed me.

Apparently there is a law now that allows police to use these cheap hotels as a means to arrest people with the hotel's cooperation. They are allowed to look into the hotels guest list and run every name listed for warrants. If they find a warrant, you're arrested right from the hotel room. I had no idea this law even existed. I know there are some that say "well don't have a warrant" but if your name is John Smith and you match someone else with the exact name......they don't ask questions first they just sweep you up and take you in.

He also said the police only go to the motels....not the fancy hotels. So if your staying at the motel 6 or if your hire is staying there.....I would be a little more cautious.....you just never know.

I've heard, I have no idea if this is true, that the presence of condoms and lube in the escort's pocket/backpack is often used as evidence that they were going to the hotel for illegal behavior.

Makes sense but considering now a days most guys are on PrEP the exchange by texts, ad, etc. is could be the only evidence.

Hmmm did HI ever change its law that allowed its Vice and Police to have sex with escorts and prostitutes before arresting them on said charges? time to google and see..

says it passed failed, had an amendment added which restored police protections and then passed... so basically yup undercover officers can still sleep with prostitutes and escorts prior to arrest.

I thought it was stopped in 2014? Do you have a link to more current Hawaii law?

unfortunately i cant get a link. i had to read piecemeal, and my browser showed information on it, but nothing to click on to expand or go to it. i was only able to find that it passed intially, then failed the second round.. got amended when law enforcement had concerns about protecting the officers.. and then the amendment passed which put back into place protections on the undercover officers.

HB 1926 was the bill or amendment.

When was this? In 2015, the supreme court struck down a law that allowed police to compel hotels to open their registries. Now, a warrant is required or the hotel owner can freely offer, but they cannot be compelled by law. https://www.forbes.com/sites/katevinton/2015/06/22/supreme-court-rules-police-cannot-force-hotel-owners-to-give-up-registry-data-without-a-warrant/

Closest thing I've experienced: At Swinging Richards, enjoying a very hot lap dance. Then the bartender starts saying the name of my dancer very loudly. "Randy! Randy!" I'm thinking, yea, he's hot alright. 'Cept he's telling Randy to get my hand off his ass because two undercover police persons have just walked in. Scared me to death. But they weren't interested at all in my lap dance, thankfully. Just investigating an incident from the night before.

What state has this law you’re referring to? Curious...

I think it depends on the hotel's cooperation. There was a hotel in a Cook county suburb (Chicago) that allowed police to walk halls with drug sniffing dogs. That hotel has since closed.

Not sure if it is/was in cooperation with the hotels, but In other areas of suburban Cook county (usually in proximity to ORD), sheriffs occasionally do prostitution stings.

Agree...but That’s all different than a hotel allowing police open access to registered to troll guest names and match up to a warrant. As mentioned here :

They are allowed to look into the hotels guest list and run every name listed for warrants

things might change legally but who will the judge believe, the escort or the cop who said he arrested her before they had sex?

I've been told stories that end in:

Honey, do you know what time it is? Time to go to jail! I'm a police officer...

BE CAREFUL IN HAWAII

Unfortunately the OP had a kind of omertà oath with the escort who told him and was unable to provide basic information about the encounter: Did they meet at the escort's hotel? How the officer contacted him? Was the text/conversation explicit? Was he offered the money upfront? Did they meet in a hookup park next to the zoo frequently raid by cops?

No basic questions got any answer by the OP.

An undercover narcotics officer acquaintance of mine said, "it's even funnier to say,'oh yeah, we're cops'" in the most sarcastic tone of voice possible, so the target thinks he's joking. He said that it's fun to read that transcript in court then without the sarcastic tone so it sounds like the criminal stupidly heard him say he was a police officer and committed a crime in front of the officer anyway.
