On what grounds do you deem it appropriate, if any, for an escort to justifiably increase his rate? Would you pay or would you expect to be “grandfathered” in?

With heightened experience in any job, one would either expect a raise or price his services accordingly. Factor in increased popularity, an aesthetic overhaul, or years in the business. Do you feel an escort is entitled to increase his rates?

How many of you have spent more on your faves due to increased demand? How many of you have severed ties?

If it is someone I haven't seen before, I would pay the increase (depending how much it is). There is one guy in particular who verbally has told me I was grandfathered in.

There was one popular guy whose increase was too much for me, so I don't even bother with him anymore.

I have not had a case where I decided to sever ties with a companion due to a rate increase. Granted, most of these increases requested were modest. I also prefer to add a tip so I am sure that has reduced the number of requests for a rate increase through the years.

Of course an escort is entitled to an increase, but you also have to consider the market you are in. Many years ago I was a hiring manager for a company in Delaware - offered a position to a consultant from New York City and had to explain to her that the position's market value in the Delaware market was less than the New York market. She had to take a pay cut if she accepted the role. It was a tough conversation - she did not enjoy the experience. Value should always outweigh cost. Tread carefully.

It’s some years since I hired but I do recall 2 popular guys who raised their rates. One was a popular muscle-bottom who abruptly raised his rates sharply and was so surprised at the reduced demand for his services that he had to lower his prices. The other guy was physically splendid and versatile in bed; he too raised his rates but explained his reasoning in applying them to future dates - his new rates were still reasonable - and he had some reduced demand but not that many fewer clients.

if i am a regular and he raises his rate for increased services, i may be cool with it. if he raises his rates because he became a "star"... forget about it.,

the best landlords never (or bump up the rent slightly) for good tenants that pay their rent on time and stay for years. there is something to be said about a steady income stream that one can count on! and i know i know... im not talking about NYC. lol

An escort is entitled to do whatever he wants with his rates with or without grandfathering regulars.

I make a decision every time I hire. The advantage of being a regular is I have an experiential basis on which to weigh the value.

One guy I see semi-regularly bumped his rates up by $25/hr (I see him for 2 hours) about a year ago but he is still below average and he is very close and convenient and usually available on short notice (he is often my plan B when a newb ghosts.)

in the case of a visitor who recently went to $500/2-hr I now politely decline to meet. I don’t feel like he owes me any explanation at all nor do I owe him one. There are others who I will pay $500...., it’s all relative.

Live long and prosper.

A provider is entitled to charge whatever he wants. Of course if I’m a regular I would like to be grandfathered in but if I’m not I may or my not move on depending on the price. I kinda see it like insurance companies....new customers absorb the rate hikes. customers that have been good and loyal with no accidents get the locked in rate.

I usually pay a regular less after I’ve been seeing him

It's nice to be "grandfathered in" to a rate, but I don't begrudge someone needing to increase his rates over time. What I don't understand is someone thinking his client base will automatically be comfortable with a 20 or 25% increase. I've never received a pay raise anywhere close to that percentage; only when I've changed jobs has my salary increated that much at one time. For the extremely well off, it might not matter whether the rate increase is $50 or more per hour. For many of us, that may move a provider too far away from what we can justify spending on this activity.

The guy I currently hire has upped his rate by 15% which is fine. To offset that he has grandfatheted me & offered to host me (he obviously feels I can be trusted) whereas before I had to book a hotel room. As he lives within driving distance it will actually work out cheaper.

This one's a keeper ! ;)

Like anything else in life, prices change. Also, like anything else, consumers can choose how to spend their $€¥RMB.

For me personally, if it is someone I like and want to see again, the price is likely not my deciding factor (first time, it certainly is part of my decision process). Past experience and schedule are 1 and 2.

However, I am always happy when repeat providers offer reduced/grandfathered rates or extra time. I feel I generally treat them well, and enjoy them reciprocating as they can or want.

No I pay the rate asked the first time if I like them then we set something up on a regular basis that’s good for us both

So you negotiate down, and an escort in no position to decline your offer, agrees. Got it.

I would say that in this matter no other guy is best than @peterhung85 to give opinion. He pretty well knows how to increase the consideration under what circumstances, in what way and to whom. Others, may sharply increase as mentioned to justify From market trend. However, I haven’t experienced any such absurd increase from peter in the last 7-8 years. What I can tell that he has awesome business acumen. He is such gentleman that he never mentioned about increase but next time we need to treat him every time we meet. Also, in this years price with him was secondary thing but surely he needs better treatment from us!

We are in the longest economic expansion in modern history. Rates for everything are going up. If someone says rates can't go up now, they are basically saying rates can never go up, a stance that doesn't withstand any scrutiny, in my opinion, of course.
