I may not be the right person to respond but...

If I were to be a client, I’d consider that a highly unlikely scenario. It would give me absolutely no indication of what a working guy might do.

 

I see a porn video as a form of entertainment and marketing for other services. I’ve never imagined that an escort may perform with a middle-aged or older, possibly overweight man what he does on video with an equally handsome/muscled young man.

I've thought about asking a hire to watch a particular porn video to find out what I am into, but I wonder if that crosses a line.

I did this way back when I first started hiring. I would have a particular DVD playing....yes DVD....that depicted the things I wanted to do and hoped that he would get the hint. Sometimes it worked but most of the time it didn’t lmao. It’s best to just ask.

Never assume that porn sex (or a filmed hookup) has anything to do with what an escort likes in their private life.

 

If it serves purpose to sell memberships, downloads or 'time,' a lot of guys will expand their sexual horizons even if it's not exactly what turns them on. It's mentally a slippery slope and I've seen a lot of guys ruin the fun of sex in their personal lives because they've forced themselves to do things professionally that they dislike.

 

I'd rather say no if it's going to feel like work.

Yes. If you just ask me to watch the videos without any framing, I would assume you are sharing a sample of the things you offer to do with me as a client.

That depends. In general, I would say no because the porn scene is either directed by someone who is not me or is not directed and, rather evolves naturally between the escort and someone who is not me. Either way, neither tells me much about whether the escort and I are compatible.

I wasn't really thinking about compatibility but what the escort is willing to do.

What an escort is willing to do and compatibility, to me, are one in the same. I truly don't care what an escort is willing to do with someone else. Given it is me paying for the session I want to know what he will do with me.

I think a distinction should be made also with regards to circumstances, comfortability, and dislikes versus work. I am sure almost all of us have done work that we hated and work we loved.

As a personal example, I have shot a bdsm scene before where I was suspended upside-down with rope and flogged very intensely. I like to believe I have very few limits, and did enjoy the experience, although in more an artistic/intrinsic way than sexual, but I would have to think hard about doing that again, at the very least for as long as the shoot lasted. I definitely would almost never do that type of session with a client or in my private life. I knew I could trust those involved in the shoot from the get go. If someone new contacted me to dominate me and suspend me like the shoot, they would definitely have unrealistic expectations.

Pornstars are just like regular actors in a sense. They put on a performance, that performance may be reflective of them personally in some way, or it may not.

If you provide examples of porn you have performed in, ideally they are the scenes you enjoy doing sexually and not something outside of your own comfort zone.
