🦨 well, now this 🦨

Come, fucking, on. This is ridiculous on both sides of the Atlantic. The FDA has been slow walking the Astrazeneca vaccine approval for a couple of months now. Combine that with the fact that nearly all travel restrictions within the US are gone, it's insanely stupid to restrict travel from countries with higher vaccination rates than half the states. If northeastern states are allowing brain dead southerners to travel in, we can let Britons in. Worse comes to worse, natural selection kills a few thousand of them and we are all better for it.

Knowing the color scheme in Britain is arbitrary is just as ridiculous. Now politics is going to play a role, too? Wouldn't a country be more than happy to let foreigners in to spend beaucoup bucks while keeping their citizens home to keep spending? At this point, making it difficult for vaccinated people to easily travel to your country only hurts your country's economy.

Europe has it right. Let Americans in and have them spend. Why should they care if the US continues it's stupid travel ban policy? Again, dumb, unvaccinated Southerners are allowed into the well vaccinated northeast willy nilly. Open up!

I've never understood the closing the barn door after the virus is in approach at all but unfortunately it seems vaccination doesn't matter, the latest numbers in one's home country do and they go up and down like a roller coaster. If they keep this up those red and green lights are going to be constantly blinking and the US will undoubtedly have some minor surges causing travel stoppage.

Covid has been a disaster for the EU with all the delayed vaccines and lockdowns. Can you imagine if every US state had closed it's borders to other states for a year? The other EU states are getting sick of the Germans' tedious lead on everything, especially covid. (these are the "new Germans" who took 10 years to build an airport instead of 1). They pretty much told them f-u we're opening to UK and US travel in June while Germany wanted the EU to stay closed indefinitely. Germany reluctantly opened to the US June 20, two weeks later. There's no "EU" policy because Germany wants a off/on policy; they just closed to EU Portugal again yesterday and never opened to the UK. Now they're thinking of shutting the US out again.  https://www.thelocal.de/20210628/is-germany-set-to-tighten-testing-and-quarantine-travel-rules/

Exhibit A, Australia.

Now, that's not quite what we did, but close. WA had its border closed for most of the year, but the other states opened and closed them depending on the prevalence of disease. Sometimes they shut out entire states, often they did it by region or local government area in the state. Australia is different to the US in that the states are physically separate to a greater extent, and outbreaks tended to be in capital (ie biggest) cities, not in the areas near borders. NZ is now treating each state as a separate entity, and from Monday will be open to Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT, but unlike interstate travel here we'll need a negative test before departure. The difference between us and the situation you face is that restrictions are removed fairly quickly, and that happens when the state with the outbreak removes its local restrictions.

I remember when Florida tried to stop people arriving by air from New York (which made a lot of sense at the time) but when they started stopping cars on I-95 looking for New Yorkers it was over in one weekend. I could just imagine if DC/Virginia/Maryland closed borders for a year lol; they're more the size of European countries like Slovakia, Czech and Austria than NSW and WA. Many people in Europe had all but forgotten those border controls were ever there.

Rhode Island tried to do the same thing. It didn't last long. With the exception of CT, NJ and for some reason PA, NY did institute a 2 week quarantine on anyone coming to NY for a few months but never officially closed the border.

Early on in the pandemic, I was one of the crazy people obsessing over every little way to protect myself. Outside of mask wearing and hand washing, I don't see the point of all these controls especially for vaxed people anymore. The science is clear about how well vaccines work. One thing that continues to be abundantly clear is governments are both too slow to begin mitigation efforts prior to a disaster and too slow relax them when they science says you should.

Open your damn country and let me take my birthday trip in August!

guys very rarely available in Prague are there (home) now and advertising. Pavel (Horny-boy3), Filip (Sweet-Phil) and Filip the bodybuilder (Hunk-Aron).

Hard to believe all 3 are now 25. Time flies. I've known all three since they were 18. 3 of the nicest and hottest guys anywhere.

Pavel is Steve Saarsgard on BelAmi and Phil is Henrik Bjorn there. The only porn with Filip the bodybuilder is an old one when he was 18 and flabby at Higgins. (Aron Ros). He is also hard to get and keep further-out appointments with. Better same-day. Pavel and Phil are always available and prompt.

There's another professional bodybuilder  who also is 25 in Prague who is terrific and super nice and professional. Richard travels some but is in Prague and available at least half time. https://rentmen.eu/AestheticXdeo   While Filip is tall, Richard is shorter and both have won their Czech National divisions.

411 on Maori Mortensen ??

This guy is hot as hell and George Duroy at Bel Ami kept his vids away for 3-5 years and has just been releasing them. I know because one with Roald Ekberg was done almost 5 years ago. I'm embarrassed to ask Roald. He doesn't seem to appear anywhere else but is too hot not to have. Mystery man.

in the fwiw dept.:

the guys are disappointed at Berlin as a market compared to Zurich and Munich. i explained to them there are 3 bars filled with guys for 50 E so that probably depresses the market.

Prague should be good once all the American gay tourists start and they can charge US prices or close.

They actually expected the market to be the same in Berlin as it is in Zurich? That's so interesting to me. Not even the price of water is comparable in those two cities.

On a side-note, I am headed to Berlin and I'm unfamiliar with the hustler bars, can you provide some info on the scene? I'd really appreciate it!

Pinnichio/Tabasco has been on the corner of Fuggerstrasse and Eisenacher Strasse for maybe 80 years. It's always been packed and still is but now it's all guys from Romania and pretty rough. Exercise extreme caution. Carry any decent amount of money in your socks under your soles. Expect guys from Romania to not follow through on any sex promises. Guys from Romania and Bulgaria come from a tradition of robbing gays, not having sex for money. ToyBoy bar across Fuggerstrasse on Eisennacher is much safer but still very active. BlueBoy bar a block up Eisennacher was even better but i think it's closed down. I also like Tramps on Eisenacher just behind Pinnichio. It has few people  but nice people in a relaxed atmosphere. Online you can expect the actual going rate in Germany to be lower than advertised and certainly lower than we're used to. Germany has a tradition of trade from way back so it's considered "normal". Many of us miss the old days there. "Bahnhofjunge" is the German slang for trashy guys who always "sold" in train stations.

These are all in the Nollendorf gay bar area of Berlin just a few blocks east of KaDeWe.

I was planning to spend September visiting cities in the old DDR and then heading to the High Tatras for some hiking and then returning to Seattle from Vienna; however all this EU dilly-dallying has caused me to scrap that plan. I don’t want to be stuck in quarantine because of some new Kappa variant against which the Pfizer vax is only 75% effective. I’ll spend my money here and in Vancouver in a few weeks.

I was thrilled when the UK with no length-of-validity passport rules opened up starting tomorrow. Then i learned they require a PCR test before departure and one after arrival , on top of the US requiring an antigen test to re-enter the US. The UK's finance minister says this is ridiculous and is asking it be changed. I can get into Amsterdam with no nothing and passport good for 3 months but Czech wants 6 months and a PCR test within 2 days.  I'm just trying to easily position in Europe or UK and let my friends come to me. Not easy.

In the meantime what if a test comes back positive !?!

update: Pavel spent a long weekend in Paris and made 5000 Euro ($6000) in 4 days. He's saying his rate will be 200E now. The hiring bender is still strong in Europe.

Of the BA crowd Fillip (Sexy-Phil) (Henrik Bjorn at BA) is back in Zurich working for the agent who keeps 30%. Pavel, Dominick, Roald Ekberg, Thom Jacobs etc used to all work there for him. Fillip (real name) has never worked Prague where he lives close to before the pandemic and i was hoping he'd stay. But he's never been too clever a businessman or promoter (tho he's a very sweet guy). Zurich's lucky.
