  1. Probably best to ask the escort in question as I doubt there's a standard answer. Kevin Slater
  2. I hear you. However, if the guy already sounds like he's going to no-show or what have you, adding a google voice number to the mix adds to my concern. I may decide not to meet him, and he may have been completely legit, and that's ok; not every booking has to happen. Kevin Slater
  3. Not always, but often you get the "Please state your name..." screener that google voice employs. Then I know it's a fake number. Even if he calls, I can start to text him back (even if I don't send) to see if it shows up as blue (a legitimate iPhone number) or green (not an iPhone, potentially google voice or some other number-masking service). Kevin Slater
  4. I'll explain that to him and ask for his name. If he's not comfortable with that, I may pass. Again, this is only if he's already struck me as 'off'. If he's calling from a hotel number and I can't patch through to his room, that's the same as a blocked number. Kevin Slater
  5. For me: I make sure I hear a voice on the phone in order to set it up (I don't care if he's piloting the international space station while his wife is in labor next to him, if he can't call, I'm not interested) I don't take calls from blocked numbers If he sounds flakey I'll call back to try and discern if it's a google voice number (the equivalent of a blocked number) I keep a record of his number after he flakes, because he's going to reach out to you again in six months It's not a bad idea to call the hotel and get patched through to the room before heading over, especially if something strikes you as 'off' The likelihood of a booking actually happening is inversely proportional to the number of texts, calls and emails beforehand Sorry to hear of your troubles. Unfortunately, it comes with the territory. Kevin Slater
  6. I think we're conflating issues here. You've never been able to pay for a Rentmen ad via Venmo; the Venmo debit card doesn't work overseas. Until recently, the PayPal debit card would work, but they've just blocked Rentmen. Kevin Slater
  7. They take bitcoin, but a friend tried that once and what a pain in the ass. Kevin Slater
  8. I think Rentboy got paranoid about verifying credit card transactions after AmEx blocked them similarly. Kevin Slater
  9. Thanks for the notice. Wish I read this before spending a while trying to figure it out. Venmo and CashApp debit cards have never worked on Rentmen, likely due to it being non-US rather that it being nefarious. Of course, Rentmen simply sent me a note saying my payment was rejected, not saying something useful like PayPal has blocked them. Typical of their customer service. Kevin Slater
  10. You've got six glowing recommendations above, four within the last six months. What more 'recent intel' can you possibly want? Kevin Slater
  11. What did the leper say to the prostitute? Keep the tip. Kevin Slater
  12. That's alright. We all knew you were an asshole. Kevin Slater
  13. Agreed. I bet most porn stars probably haven't ever actually delivered a pizza, coached your son's little league, or driven a police cruiser. Kevin Slater
  14. I just looked and yeah, 80% of lifetime revenue came from 16% of my clients. But what's more interesting is that 50% of lifetime revenue comes from just .7% of my clients. Kevin Slater
  15. I like my women the way I like my coffee. I don't like coffee. Kevin Slater
  16. Often more than once a week. Keep in mind it's not just number of meetings, but payment per. Kevin Slater
  17. A large percentage of each year's revenue comes from that year's top three clients. http://www.laterslater.com/YE2018.png Kevin Slater
  18. Insert stiffy joke here. Kevin Slater
  19. Being a landlord, I've had the occasional mouse issue. My ultra-competent super makes the point that the only real solution is to find how they're getting in and block it. Otherwise you're just plucking off a never-ending series of mice. Once you've blocked the entrance, you may have to deal with any mice you've trapped inside, but that's step two. I'm guessing rats are the same. You mention you rent. Have you brought the problem to the landlord? Kevin Slater
  20. Not that I recall. Kevin Slater
  21. They have every right to ask, you have every right to decline. I'm still waiting to hear of someone sending a pic of two Bens and a Ulysses. Kevin Slater
  22. He just started an annoying rentmen message exchange where he seemed to confuse me with a drug dealer. Kevin Slater
  23. It's more like one guy per booth with a slot (who are you calling a slot?) between them so fun can be had. Every place in NYC will 86 you if you try two per booth. Kevin Slater
  24. I just sent and received messages between gmail and my non-gmail account. Went through, after maybe a half minute delay (which may be normal, I can't say). Kevin Slater
  25. My two most frequent clients have seen me 1127and 991 times. Number three comes in at a mere 297. Kevin Slater
