socurious got a reaction from pubic_assistance in What's the standard price in New York for two hours right now?
350 in the city since I'm a newbie with only one review in my profile. I don't consider that expensive. I've done 300 a few times but regretted it. I did 200 for 30 minutes one time but no anal involved. I only do travels.
I'm not into into cheap customers honestly. If someone thinks 350-400 for a escort in New York City is a lot then hiring is not their thing.
I hate when certain clients like to act entitled as if they have the right to tell others what's their value is. Unless the escort is scamming people no one has that right.  If you think someone is expensive just move on and hire someone else. It's their bodies and minds at the end of the day.

Well, someone that has an erection to have sex with another man can't be straight. But this is just my opinion.

Would you rather hire a bi, gay or straight provider? I ask because a lot of clients find the idea of having sex with a straight or bi man more exciting. Most of my clients usually assume I'm straight. Do you think identifying as bi, gay or straight makes a different when trying to find potential clients?

I much prefer a gay man. Or at least a bi-guy.

For a while, I dated a personal trainer. He was passionate in bed, bottomed for me and told me how much he enjoyed swallowing my loads. So I was very surprised when he declared he was straight (had a girlfriend and baby).

I am not straight or bisexual.  Whenever I get my balls and penis waxed, whether by a man or woman, I always get an erection.  I also get an erection when disrobed at the doctor's office alone in the room and waiting for the nurse or doctor to come in to examine me, not knowing if the nurse or doctor will be man or woman.  I don't want to have sex with these people, yet I get an erection.
I'll get an erection when the wind blows and I'm naked, alone, by the pool.  Same when I'm close to a water jet in a hot tub.  The wind or water jet is neither male nor female, yet it gets me hard!
The statement above is akin to saying a gay escort can't get an erection with a client that they are not attracted to.  Bologna.  Besides, straight men get erections all the time when having sex with their own man hand during masturbation.

My opinion is different than yours.  Erections are physiological responses that can have little to do with attraction.  For example, those who are abused by another guy may experience the physiological response of an erection during the abuse, even though they have no same-sex attraction.  It's part of the reason why many of us who have experienced abuse are left feeling very confused about our orientation.

    me too!
Many providers call themselves straight or bi just as a marketing tool to attract more clients.
There are also some gay clients who would rather hire guys that would only have sex with men for money.
In many cases is simply out of desperation for money after failing in other career paths like modeling, acting, escorting for women, etc. Others are strippers and realize they could make more money in a shorter time escorting.
Unfortunately, some gay-for-pay guys are ungrateful with the "gays", many high-profile cases of them committing crimes against their clients.

well, you don't kiss, maybe that's why they think you're straight.

I prefer gay followed by bi. I just tend to question why a straight man would be on a gay side. Call me old fashioned. 😉

I prefer either bi providers, or partnered gay providers. I find they have less “baggage” and tend to be less self absorbed.

Straight for sure.  And for the same reason most people prefer straight go-go dancers.

My best experiences have been with a guy who advertised as bi, but told me he was mostly straight, another who advertised as bi, and one who advertised as gay.

All things being equal I choose a gay provider first.  Although I have learned that having a gay provider doesn't guarantee a great time and hiring a straight provider doesn't mean it will be a bad experience.

Do you correct them (assuming you don’t identify yourself that way?)

"Guts" is just another way to say intuition ,street smarts, and unconscious desire. Always go with your gut.

socurious reacted to + DynamicUno in Aversion to RM Chat?
RM's chat system has a reputation for being unreliable (delivering messages late, dropped alerts, etc), and it doesn't generate native notifications for mobile users which forces users to check the RM page to see if new messages have been received.  Text messaging (SMS or iMessage) or messaging apps like WhatsApp are more robust and natively give notifications when a message is received.
RM chat's deficiencies are more serious for providers who may be in contact with multiple potential clients at the same time so checking for new message can be more challenging, clients are more likely to follow only one or two conversations at a time.
My personal approach is to message on RM and transition to phone messaging once contact has been made.  That preserves my ability to leave a review, but phone app messaging helps confirm the meeting details more quickly.

    Sooo damn rude.
A lot of us are educated. I graduated with a decent GPA myself. Many just escort as a side job for extra income or because they simply like to travel and think is good money where you can take several breaks.

Interesting that we pay $600-$700 for a couple hours of attention.  It's a very expensive orgasm.
