I was a member here on 9/11/2001. Where else than the Lounge could one post about it that day? One needs a forum to post about subjects that don't fit in any of the other designated fora, even if there are not many posts made there.

The Lounge is one of the few forums I visit here. I understand there are new forums for specific interests, however when new people join a site like this, they will look for the general discussion area. Here, it is the Lounge. 
I don't know how much traffic the others get, and where it may be minor banter here, that is the point. The other forums have a topic, this is the one place open to allow members to joke, vent, discuss, and so on. Interaction by members not posting in the same forum will be here. 
I think closing this forum will reduce the number of new participants as it raises the work for entry, and dissatisfy the current membership as it's the open hangout place.

I'm a military brat, but not from an officer. I've always seen it used as the child of a member of the military, regardless of the sponsor's rank. To be a "real" military brat, you need to have moved around as your family was moved from one base to another, have a dependent ID card, and have have some basic idea of how the military works. I've experienced it consistently used that way over a variety of military bases.

I'm a regular with him. He is great to spend time around, and has been wonderful all the time. I am always satisfied.

I have gotten a number of items from: https://secondskin.co/ it seems they hold payment in escrow until the item is received by the buyer. Which as a buyer I like. I've never had a problem, but I am sure there is something about sellers if they buyer does not say it arrived. I would recommend a tracking number for shipments.

The English language is a great passion of mine - history and use. "it" is considered dehumanizing and "They/them" is a plural. The use of they/them and inventing new pronouns both have the same failing: they are not in common use. The use wll have to change in one direction on another, and that must be done by the bulk of people in a dialect group actually doing it. The issue is not the words so much as the use.
