I’ve met several folks from the site here. In fact… I’ll be seeing one member later tonight and a couple more tomorrow.   

I’m sad. The discussion was often robust but isn’t political debate always robust? The contributors on both sides of the political divide were usually highly intelligent and committed. I for one will miss it greatly.

Mid 40s, currently working - not hiring much at all these days.  My vices are light gambling and strippers. 
At the moment, I joke that best case scenario my iBonds will be used for Whiskey and Whores (as in the Grand Budapest Hotel). My current plan is I will not have a mortgage payment to worry about in a decade.  I max out my 401k and IRA.  In the worse case, the iBonds represent the last resort funds to keep me from eating alpo. 
The real question can I push back from full-time work to enjoy quality years in semi-retirement. I'd hate to have saved up all for little real enjoyment. It'll be hard to switch from savings to spending.  My mom's perspective on retirement wealth after her stroke haunt me - what good does this do me now? It can't fix this.   Reminder that you can't take it with you and live while you're healthy too. 

Its an interesting concept - I discovered about 45 years ago men in bathhouses who wanted me to say "I love you" to them - I never got confused between good sex and love

It's an interesting question, but I don't think there is any real comparison unless English was the 'another language' they had to learn. For an English speaker there are few jobs in the US or Australia where speaking another language is necessary, either practically or as a matter of policy. As has been noted already, that is not the case in Canada where federal employees are required to be able to conduct business in both English and French. Air Canada may not require proficiency in French (I'm surprised it apparently does not), but for a big national company that needs to deal with the federal government to have a CEO not able to conduct business with them if the officials they were with chose to speak French is inconceivable. As to whether he has tarnished the company's brand, I suspect he it's his own brand rather than the airline's that he's tarnished (except to the extent that allowing him to get away with being monolingual for so long did so).

I am not going to mess with the guy in whose hands I have placed my safety. Survival first, sex second!

I had a roommate in college preferred to read explicit stories and j/o to them. I suppose here is a good platform to announce my Semi Retirement as I entered a new career in May. I’m working a 9-5 and boy has it been an adjustment. I’m happy to start the career I dreamed of in an industry I’m passionate about - Wealth Management. I’m upset at the Pandemic for forcing this move upon me sooner than I had planned, but the universe set this upon us all. I love and appreciate my connections and travels. I hope to still travel on a weekend basis and keep in contact with many of you. Overall I must say thank you for everything and it’s been a fun ride. I hope you’re all well and healthy. I’ll always love this chapter in my life. Take care.
