I don't think you'd be taking advantage them if it was proposed by the escort and fulfilled his need for positive cash flow. I think you have a glamorized unrealistic view of wealthy young men (exaggeration to make point) doing it for "extra" spending money whilst in school.

I've been flying alone for years now. I always bring a book onboard, and am grateful to be able to just read, and not have to be tied to technology.
 
However, it's always been a pleasure to have a seatmate who is interesting, and willing to converse. Unfortunately, happens less often on planes these days.

I used to have books on chess, but were left behind at some point. Definitely a worthy game. I used to play bridge also. Things I did in high school and college.

While I'm not enthusiastic about the sign's verbiage, I do find it more humorous than offensive.

So sad that he ended up in such physical and mental pain. Even if Parkinson's was the wrong diagnosis, the alternative sounds even worse.

It is fun, in a morbid sort of way, to read some of the letters in the agony columns. One of my favorites was from a guy who had been appalled at how much toothpaste his visiting mother-in-law used, so he put out little squares of wax paper on the sink, with "appropriate amounts" of toothpaste on them. After the visit the MIL sent him a case of toothpaste, and he wrote Miss Manners wondering if he'd been incorrect.

Apparently, the bride has never heard of "removing one's glasses" and "handing your crutches to someone out of camera range."
 
Instead of gifts, people should contribute to the groom's divorce fund.
