"Boyfriend experience" is a very subjective term. Almost best to look inward and think about what it means to you and what your expecations are for a "boyfriend experience." I think most halfway decent escorts can meet them if they understand what you are looking for.

Only 2 out of 10 Brazilians i had met that actually perform well.

Although a decent BFE is described above, it's so overused by escorts that there's no guarantee what will happen. Especially with the younger escorts who think they're too sexy for most people.

Soliciting for a tip before the session. I kid you not.

Yes hi! I'm ok! That first interaction wasn't great. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't what I was looking for (or paying for!)
But I decided to try again with someone else a few weeks later and had an amazing time with that guy. I ended up seeing him several times.
I've hired a couple of people since I first posted and all but the first have been amazing. I'm meeting someone new tomorrow actually

Actual cases of legal action against someone hiring an escort fall into two categories.
#1 Election years where a "family values" candidate wishes to make a mark.
#2 Election years where an opposing party wishes to being down an incumbent by exposing his hiring habits.
Hoping this comment isn't viewed as being too political. I think not..because these issues aren't specific to either of the two major political parties in the US. It's just the way things are here in the US and how the laws of prostitution tend to be applied.

In a big blue city (say NYC) the last thing the cops have time for is the hobby. They have a lot of other things to deal with.  So as long as things stay private, calm and friendly there is almost no risk. A small city where folks have nothing better to do? Probably risk goes up a little bit, but not much.

I agree that the label is unreliable e.g. if the provider posts available for the next six hours and then gets booked, they seldom take down the post (I do not recall noticing that ever being done) even though a good deal of that time they are not available and even after they have finished with the first client they may not wish to move on with a new one until a suitable refresher period has passed. But the original post asked if indicating availability at 2,3 or 4 am was a warning sign and I pose it is not in and of itself one.

Business relationship.  They are all business relationships with mutual respect for each party.
I am respectful with everyone I hire and I find that goes a long way toward a fun and relaxed session.

It’s that piece of paper the person in front of you at the grocery store checkout line is taking an interminable amount of time writing on and holding up the line.

A regular is someone who knows me personally, who I know personally, knows exactly what I'm into, and someone with whom I have mutual respect.
It's someone that I can text, ask if they're available at x o'clock, and schedule with no fuss.
I'd say I hire a regular at least 4 times a year, while others I hire 10+ times a year. When you have several regulars, you can't see them every month, especially when they travel.

Conversely. I've encountered 3 or 4 providers in the last few weeks, one moments ago, marked as available during "regular hours" who respond that they're booked up or don't respond until hours later. Nothing wrong in the interaction, I just find the label unreliable.

I’ve had younger renters come to my office with a check book and their mother more than once.   I’ve had to explain how to write a check while their embarrassed mother looked on.

My hiring also increases when I travel.  I make a list of prospects before leaving and hire about three at my destination. Early afternoon upon check in, early evening, and late night or morning before checkout.

there are other threads about tipping for various service types: wait staff, barbers, massage therapists, providers, etc
the American concept behind tipping was always to supplement someone who may not receive full benefit of payment - like a barber who does not own the shop, or a massage therapist who works in a spa owned by someone else.
If someone receives full benefit of payment, then no tip required for services provided.
no rules against whatever anyone wants to tip  - but in provider context it seems to set up a vague expectation ripe for disappointment or misinterpretation.  I’d much rather have a provider quote a rate that they are happy to receive without an expectation of additional tips. At $300-$400 an hour these days - that is a far cry from restaurant wait staff working at below minimum wage, dependent on tips to survive.
i see frequent tipping requests in pharmacies, convenience stores & fast food restaurants these days in US….its completely & totally out of control.
re; shorting on time or inability to perform - depends on context.  If the provider is stable & reasonable then negotiate.  if any signs of aggression or instability - pay in full & leave asap.

I remember once seeing a celebrity on a talk show say they *always* paid by check because many people wouldn't cash them but keep them as a souvenir.

I'm pretty sure Venmo would close your account if they have reasonable evidence that you're using the money illegally, which technically hiring is.

When I'm not seeing anyone, I try to hire twice a month. I actually have a line item in my budget for that.
The past few months, I've been hiring less, simply because I'm spending a lot of time with another guy. Open relationship. I've been meaning to ask if he wants to hire a really muscular guy to join us.
However, on vacations, I can hire a couple a week, as I did about a month ago. I'm still working and spend a lot of time oncall, so finding time to hire can be difficult at times.
