Migrant Men-What's your experience?
+ DrownedBoy replied to + keroscenefire's topic in Questions About Hiring
There's nothing dehumanizing about seeking out deals. It's called a capitalist economy. Is someone a monster for waiting for a store owner to overstock, then buy things on sale? Is it inhuman to buy a stock when it's low in price? Are companies evil for lowering their wage offers during times of high unemployment? As long as there's real cash (and not basic necessities) being exchanged, it's a fair deal, and both parties are adults who can walk away from it. -
The donation rate that can create confusion.

Question for providers, though: Is it sometimes advantageous to change your rates depending on what the client wants? I've know providers who offer low rates if all the client wants to do is a foot rub, or some other minor fetish. They claim they're their favorite clients since they barely have to do anything. -
Migrant Men-What's your experience?
+ DrownedBoy replied to + keroscenefire's topic in Questions About Hiring
Not all of them - I've met my share of young, undocumented Latino guys who think they're God's gift to gay men. Of course, they're not working a second job; they're touring in expensive hotels. They need to be reminded they're only here on our sufferance. That being said, there are people taking advantage of undocumented migrants. I've met enough gay men here who keep talking about how they want to "sponsor" some hot young Venezuelan guy....and then put them to work as their houseboy. When you only offer housing and food, that's not escorting - that's survival sex. And I already read a profile from a Venezuelan guy who wants a "roommate" in exchange for walking around the place naked all the time. -
Market opportunity.

@keroscenefire and @FrankR, how did you make initial contact with these immigrants? In Chicago, there's quite a few pockets of Venezuelans scattered around the area (I'm not saying which one I'm closest to). On Grindr, I did see two non-English speakers who specifically said they were "buscando trabajo," but when I asked (in English) what kind of work, there was no response. I've been meaning to try again in Spanish. I've also seen a lot looking to "rent a room." They even have a FB group in Chicago. It would be too risky to contact them via this app, but they're all desperate for any work whatsoever, and men have already started making "offers" to Venezuelan women to move in. I'd imagine you could make a good deal, once you establish what you except (if they kiss, I'm happy). Moreover it's happening all over the place: https://www.cbsnews.com/chicago/news/illegal-sex-work-southwest-side-chicago/). The sex work market works like any other market, and in Columbia, local sex workers already complained that Venezuelan refugees were pushing rates down in that area. This influx should be interesting from an economic perspective. Just make sure they're independent and not under anyone's control (https://cwbchicago.com/2024/01/sex-trafficking-ring-forced-migrant-women-chicago-suburbs.html). Since they're men, you should be safe. -
I think he can rule out getting a rich, sophisticated sugar daddy.

Apparently Sleepyboy went down for an hour or so. Now I can see it. I wouldn't mind this....if the escort was in his early twenties and muscular. I'll bring my (from college) copy of the Key of Solomon and try to summon some fun. EDIT: No, he says in the profile he's a Satanist. Much different religion.

I can't reach the page. Something tells me it wasn't attracting any clients.
-
I especially thank providers who act like gentlemen. That's how I try to act, and to see it returned means a good session is coming.
-
I think of it this way. Neither I nor my firm will put up with young hires who are habitually late. Business is business, and I've had to remind more than one late provider (or late employee) that there are many out there who want their job.
-
Yup. When you work full-time in an important job, you can't deal with kids who like to be fashionably late. When I was in college, when your sugar daddy told you to be at the restaurant at a certain time, you showed up. Irresponsible and lazy brats don't deserve sugar.

Caveats in hiring. Please contribute!

Good filter. If they refuse or seem huffy, it means they're a bad hire. -

There's a word for that. https://www.dictionary.com/browse/narcissism -
The "bid" feature seems limited. It looks like they expect the "offer" to include expensive date options, like fancy restaurants or exotic vacations. Either way, a competitor for SA. Not an escorting platform.

The moment I saw the word "tapestry," I knew he was copying it from somewhere else. Why can't everyone be direct? Like, "you cover my apartment and tuition, and I'll be your boyfriend."

Do snowy days negatively affect business?
+ DrownedBoy replied to marylander1940's topic in Questions About Hiring
As is the custom in Chicago since '79, they spread about 2 lbs. of salt for every 1 lb. of snow. The Picasso looks like it just crapped out a pile of salt. Seriously. And I gave up keeping salt out of my front hall. -

There's nothing sadder than a person who bases their self esteem on their sexy appearances. That's a great path to suicide as you grow old when gay. -
You end up paying for it, one way or the other.
-
I've met providers who've been "exclusive" to a sugar daddy before, and it's not always comfortable or pleasurable. One of my regulars left such a situation to maintain his freedom.

Pornstar/Escort Dominic Pacifico has terminal disease & needs help

Yup. Unfortunately, kidney transplants are not the cure-all people think they are, as many members of my family have learned. -
Too bad. Hopefully he found something or someone more lucrative.

Wrong medication. Dehydration due to intense sports. Genetics. The list is endless. -
Safety & Validity of https://rent.men/

Just never say anything that translates to "I'll pay you money for sex" and most legal problems are gone. Also, few cops are willing to French kiss for a collar. Like they said, the main problem is fraudulent providers. Do due diligence. That's what The Deli section is.
