That applies to sooooo many things in this business. 😄

What someone said, it's on a 6 hour timer. If you want to discuss etiquette, you should start with providers who are marked "Available Now" and then get annoyed with you for waking them up, etc. That gets me to block them immediately. ETA notwithstanding, if a provider flags themselves as available, they should be nominally available. They should EXPECT to be contacted no matter what the time, if they've flagged themselves.
-
Yes, it should be, "Hi, saw you on RM, are you working?" I can't stand people who just say "hi" in a business context without anything else. I work with people like that. I just respond with a question mark waiting for them to get to the point.

Debating whether to ask provider
+ DrownedBoy replied to traveler09's topic in Questions About Hiring
That's the answer. Never ask yourself. -
Yes, flakey. I tried to hire him in a regular basis, but he always came at least 45 minutes late, so I "fired" him.
-
And even if you told the provider, I doubt they'd care too much. A lot of providers consider themselves "sex therapists," so if you tell them, they might try to help you ease back into the groove...

Yes, an enlightening article. Makes me happy I don't care for online chatting with models. However, this is nothing new. I recall reading a newspaper article, back in 2001, on how young women had "live cams" set up in their rooms, and attracted fans and money that way. Of course, they couldn't show as much skin as today.

Ditto. A lot of providers can get forgetful, and I've seen one who, once a month, always had his ad marked as expired because he took time to pay RM. As far as contacting expired ads - I'd only do that if you already met the provider in person, and ask if they want to continue making some extra money. And even then, acknowledge that their ad is expired, and that you wish them well no matter what the response.

Nyc hotel advice for a weekend of hiring?
+ DrownedBoy replied to + wanderwest's topic in Questions About Hiring
Yeah, there was a popular twink in Chicago years ago, and some visiting businessman hired him. He advised future clients to have him dress differently, since, in the guy's words, he dressed like a "young gay man".... -
Tongues? Provider with the Longest and or the Strongest
+ DrownedBoy replied to PileDriver's topic in The Deli
Hey, if I can find a guy in Chicago with a long, skilled tongue who kisses, I'd text him. This one guy who used to escort here (retired and moved) could practically lick my tonsils when he kissed me. -
Exactly. You'll note in the above articles that they call it "sex trafficking" when it was simply a trap for Johns. It's just a new term they made up, and they now use it everywhere. Americans are smart enough to realize "prostitution" should be legal, so LA use a new term that sounds worst. So they can continue collecting our tax dollars for victimless crimes.

Mr Number - App With Reviews/Info on Clients
+ DrownedBoy replied to MCR's topic in Questions About Hiring
Make an "approved client" list. I don't like how these a@@holes make it harder for the honest to hire. -
Looks like Richard Simmons is reincarnated as a escort.
+ DrownedBoy replied to + glutes's topic in The Deli
While the hair in several pics looks like Simmons, that guy's weight indicates he would be better off following one of Simmons' exercise plans. -
Can a name increase someone's appeal for you?
+ DrownedBoy replied to ReynST's topic in Questions About Hiring
I watch out for names (and ad text) that emphasize words like "high class" or "exclusive." That usually translates into more $$$. I recall a thread here about a provider who called himself "Jack The Ripper" on RM. I'd imagine such a name would scare me off. -
Maybe. Going back to entrapment, another factor is that LA feels pressured if people are breaking the law in plain sight. That's why they took down RB. They can't do the same to RM since it's not in America, but if police did decide to go after gay clients, using it would be like shooting fish in a barrel. And that's why this year is dangerous, since there are a lot of bastards looking to score some political points.

Ah. Instagram is like SA. I'll put it in my retirement list.
-
Well I guess this one old piece of sex work wisdom is gone: "If you can name the color of the cop's underwear, they have to drop the charges." 😄
-
If a provider keeps trying to get you to say something along the lines of 'are you paying for sex,' stop. A tip someone else mentioned, and I've used successfully - when they first arrive, try and get a large French kiss before they even say anything. Cops won't do that.
-
Well I'm never using Instagram to hire anyone again. I found a guy willing, but he kept using his cell phone, even making phone calls, during the session, and when I made him leave it on the table, he'd get up every few minutes. Figures!!!! 😄 Needless to say, I won't be hiring him again. I'd laugh if I saw his face when he finally realizes his dinky little account is worthless, all the work he put into it is wasted, and he's no celebrity. Then he'll kick himself for blowing a source of income. EDIT Since he still lives with his mommy, I'm going to make the assumption he's not getting rich as an "influencer."

Also, recent stings targeting gay men generally happen in conservative areas of the U.S. (like the Georgia raid, where men were accused of being a john for offering joint paper to their hookups). It's been said many times here - especially this year, I'd be careful in a lot of states.
-
Oh, a lot of OF guys would be better if they used AI to generate text. There was that massively muscled straight guy who was once popular, but now I forget his name. He had an account. He kept trying to find hot women to sleep with and create content. Once, in an attempt to attract women, he added a video saying, "Here's how a real man talks." The video looked out on the sky, and then you heard him say, in this totally bruh voice, " Look at the sun setting over Las Vegas " I doubled over and laughed, thinking, God, what a stupid goon!

mouthwash after oral sex - what's that?
+ DrownedBoy replied to viewing ownly's topic in Questions About Hiring
I don't know the studies, but when I was a little slut, they kept saying that flossing/brushing/mouthwash all increased the chances of oral infection. But HIV was a lot more scary 25 years ago. Now I see why they make mint flavored condoms...
