Really? Care to cite any sources? According to Matthew Belloni of Puck Magazine (link below), the cancellation is not exactly sudden or unjustified. According to Belloni, reports that the top execs at CBS have been wrestling with the problem for months, and Colbert himself was alerted that there were cancellation plans coming. As it turns out, Colbert has been a huge drag on the network. Belloni noted that The Late Show has been losing about $40 million a year at least — since the 2021 season when ad revenue plummeted and never began ticking back up. According to Belloni, "The Late show is simply not worth the $100 million annual production costs, and CBS says that the cancellation is just a matter of economics." So, Colbert, displaying his typical hubris, arrogance, and sense of entitlement, decides to publicly trash his employer for a legal decision they made. What he should have done is get down on his hands and knees and show some gratitude to them for continuing to pay him $15 million a year to work a few hours a day with 12 weeks vacation annually. First of all, the kid is 20 years old. He is blond/blue eyed, handsome, and muscular. The gay hiring world is his oyster. If Bozo had all of those attributes, he would probably have a bit of an attitude. Yes, even the loveable Bozo 🙂. Second, Bozo hired Chris as a masseur back in April. Although it wasn't a great massage (Bozo wouldn't repeat), it wasn't the worst one either. Hardly an endorsement, I know. Third, During the time we spent together, Chris did not display any attitude or arrogance. None. He was clearly inexperienced, fumbling around trying to figure out how to please Bozo, while at the same time, limiting how far he would go physically. Based on his youth and looks alone, this kid will make $$$, and if he chooses to expand his repertoire just a bit , he will make gobs of it. Just look at the current Rentmasseur and Rentmen ads for Toronto. No one else with his "looks". Not even close.
