  1. Let's take a generic mens spa. You get a great massage, and then the masseur works hard so you will leave happy. In his experience, that hard work is rarely rewarded with a good tip. People can be cheap. So he inquires what they want and tries to get them to tip appropriately. I see nothing wrong with that. He is not really upselling, he is just finding out how hard he should work. All hypothetical of course.

FYI, Draping is required by law in almost all states. Your legit masseur would know this and be extremely hesitant to put his license in jeopardy.

I am a lawyer and I find this comment hard to figure. You say that you know draping is required by law in most states. I don't know that. It is often local law that sets issues like that, so a state may not even have such a law.

I am just curious about what facts you have to make such a statement.

(I know, Hyattsville is not a state!) 🙂

EDIT: So I researched the issue and found an article listing the state laws requiring draping. The author could only come up with one- Tennessee. But I wouldn't be surprised if Alabama had restrictions too. Utah too.

Your reply is very kind, heartfelt, and empathetic, but I don't believe the OP is the one who is mentioned in the story.  There is a link to the story at the bottom of his post to a NY Post article, and that has the name of the article's author.  :)

Are you saying that @samhexum is pretending that this happened to him when it was really another person? Talk about scams.

In Bangkok, if you've never heard Thai people use the terms Tinglish, Thainglish, or Thaiglish, you're not listening very carefully. Or perhaps you meet only one type?

Referring to such terms does NOT mean that Thais have no idea what they're saying. Where did you get that idea? Do pochos in Mexico and the US not understand what they're saying?

FYI... "Mashup" terms like Thainglish, Singlish, and Manglish are well known by locals in those three countries. Listen up -- not everything is on Wikipedia! ☺️

I have been to Bangkok 15 or so times and never heard these terms used. Just saying.
