I'm hoping to retire at 60, if my finances appear to be in order for me to do so. It isn't that my job is absolutely horrible, but I so sick of the level of incompetence where I work that I really want to get away from where I work. I haven't created an account on Rentmen or any site that requires a credit card, so I guess I have to say 2. It isn't like I give my last name to everyone I hire, but I use my first name. My address and phone number could also be used to find my last name, I suppose, if someone were so inclined. I hate to blame victims of scams, but sometimes one does have to wonder how it is that anyone can fall for some of the more obvious ones: 1. Someone you've never met who needs money to come be with you? More than likely a scam, but even if it is some lonely gay man in the middle of nowhere who wants a sugar daddy to move him to a more gay friendly city there is a way for a man like that to look for what he wants that doesn't start with a lame, generic message about looking for love and that your profile reveals you to be a perfect match. 2. Someone alerted me to this scam recently: Someone will message you on Facebook (or maybe sent a text) saying that you might qualify for a government grant. After a couple of messages back and forth, they say you qualify for a grant but that you have to put up some money for "processing." If it were only true that I could get the government to give me $750,000 for a $10,400 processing fee.

I agree with you in spirit and that's also my outlook when it comes to my hiring, but I do appreciate that some people might have jobs that could be put in jeopardy if some guy got mad at them and tried to make trouble with their employer, particularly if they live in some backward area of the country. I'm sure the mere whisper that someone has hired an escort could cause trouble for some people at work. I have less a problem with A&F marketing itself to the athletically built than I do with their racism. I can understand the logic of wanting to protect everyone somewhat versus providing greater protection to only some people when supplies are low. I know that originally the thought was that the first shot only provided about 50% protection but that was only looking at the first two weeks after injection. I'm not vegan but can enjoy a good vegan meal. I highly recommend Native Foods (a small chain with a few southern California locations and a few locations in other states). Unpretentious but tasty, and unlike some vegan restaurants a carnivore isn't going to find the portion size lacking. What I don't understand is how difficult it is to find good Thai food, not just in Palm Springs but in southern California in general. Maybe I just haven't had good luck at picking the right places, but of the several Thai restaurants I've gone to in the greater LA area and in Palm Springs the only one that came close to serving something that didn't just seem like generic "Asian" food (meaning that it actually had flavor from lemongrass, galangal, thai chilis, etc) was a place in Desert Hot Springs -- and that was far from the best Thai food I've ever had. Guess I'm spoiled where I live since it's easy to find decent or better Thai food in San Francisco. Hint: If you go into a Thai restaurant and you see things on the menu like sweet and sour chicken you are not going to be eating Thai food. I echo Rick's for breakfast. I like Sherman's, too, but enjoy their sandwiches a lot more than their breakfast. My favorite place for dinner in Palm Springs is Trio, in part because I like their food but also in part because they hire so many attractive young men as waiters.
