I didn't have any bad experiences this year. The worst thing to happen with a provider/masseur, or to be more exact without a provider/masseur, was they canceled at the last minute. This happened 4 times. Two with masseurs and 2 providers. To counteract those non-encounters, the 4 new-to-me guys (3 providers, and 1 masseur) I've met this year have been outstanding. They will/are be repeat hires until they choose not to be in this hobby.

Did you ask him directly? I find that some providers may be willing to do something for one client and not the other depending upon a lot of variables. if you’re interested in the guy ask him directly, politely instead of what he may have told someone else.

They retire for various reasons. Of the ones I have known/know who have, they retired because... - they found love/a sugar daddy/etc. - only did it for quick cash or make enough to put themselves through school. - even though they love what they do they get worn out and want to do something else - some just abruptly quit cold turkey and drop off the face of the earth - some just feel it's time to retire. The work span for each individual provider/masseur is up to that particular person. There is no set time frame. Some retired providers/masseurs do see at least some of their regulars. While others, once retired, they will cut all their regulars off and move on to the next phase of their life/career. In my experience, I am in contact with a number of retired/semi-retired mostly providers and one masseur. My interactions with these guys varies. Some I've formed friendships with and talk to them on and off each year. Some I even go on trips together. Others I still get to hire on occasion. The best you can hope for is that you meet a great provider/masseur and you get to see him regularly for more than a couple years. If more comes out if it... that's a huge bonus.

To answer your question... all the time. If i relied solely on input from this site, I would have missed a number of (imho) great unvetted providers. As people have mentioned sometimes the ad copy or the pre-meet interaction with the provider is enough to sell me on moving forward. People seem to forget or don't realize that even though this site is vastly informative, most people who hire don't know it exists. There is also not enough men (and women) on this site who are willing to participate in giving input on every new guy who shows up on Rentmen (or any other hiring site). Lastly, even when sometimes a provider is discussed here, there isn't much information given. So one could either wait and miss out or bite the bullet and take a chance. More often than not in those cases I will take a chance.

Over the years I've flown in a number of providers. A good portion of them were first time hires. (Now they are regulars.) I usually give the choice of either buying the tickets or reimbursing the money after they have bought the ticket. The caveat of buying the ticket for the provider, I usually must know their real name and birthday to book the flights. The vast majority of the guys I've flown in have been ok with me getting the tickets and knowing their personal info. Not everyone is ok with this though. They prefer to buy the ticket themselves. In this case, they'll usually show me a screenshot of the itinerary and want me to cash app them ahead of time or add the flight costs to their rate. Currently there is only one guy I bring in on occasion, who wants to buy his on tickets. Of all the times I brought someone in, only once was I screwed over and no showed by the provider after paying ahead of time for the flights.
