Cooper got a reaction from thomas in R.I.P. "Lucky"
@Lucky was an original member of the site with close to 19K posts. He wasn’t only a fine contributor but a personal friend of mine.
I 1st met @Lucky when he lived in NYC. We were regulars at the Gaiety and often took in Broadway 🎭 shows and afternoon lunches. When he moved to California he promised he’d visit and he did, however, each visit I could see he was slowing down. His last visit was November ’25
I want to thank @Charlie for filling us in on his decline and writing that beautiful eulogy. He kept me posted when @Lucky could no longer reply or speak on the phone.
@Lucky had a loving partner and, eventually his husband, for many years.
RIP my old friend, you’ll be missed. 🙏

A memorial for Lucky was held yesterday at a church in Palm Springs. Unfortunately, it was the hottest day of the year (117 degrees at the time of the service), and there were not many people present--another old friend of his and I were almost the only non-family members, and we were both asked to speak about our experience with him, which we did relatively truthfully (we did not discuss the primary subject matter of this website). One of the most positive aspects of the memorial was the fact that everyone present knew and openly acknowledged Lucky's sexual orientation in a very positive way (e.g., his nieces and nephews all refer to his partner as "Uncle"). I was moved by the love and admiration that his family members obviously felt for him. He was my best friend in Palm Springs for many years, and I will truly miss him.

Gentlemen, It’s a good topic but I’m receiving reports on this becoming too political. Unfortunately, I had to delete a few posts. Reminder we are a politics free site and posting political messages is a violation of our Guidelines.

Hate speech/hateful speech, name-calling/labelling, inciting or engaging in arguments, publicly shaming, and attacking other members, groups of members, or people who are the topic of discussion is prohibited. Remember: you may criticize a person's opinion but don't attack the person.

Although I never had the opportunity to meet and be in the company of Lucky, I feel as if I knew him from his innumerable posts and his support of me via the words that I'd written at various sectors. May he rest in peace and power!

Welcome to the forum @Massage4fun. I’d suggest you include a link to “AlexNeto” advertisement. You’ll get a quicker and better response here.

I am so sorry to hear this news. While I never met Lucky in person, we had many exchanges in this Forum and its previous iterations, going back to HooBoy. He was always gracious and humorous in his posts which made for interesting dialogue.
We will all miss him greatly. Especially old timers like myself. RIP

So sad to read this. We haven’t been in touch in a long time, but I thought of him frequently. A kind man and funny.
He even stayed at my apartment once when I was out of town.
