I’ve run into some of these that actually do offer a full menu but selectively. They advertise on RM as massage only but if they’re in the mood and find the client appealing, they’re willing to do more. It gives them a measure of control.

Good questions but I would respectfully challenge some of your assumptions. Many, if not most health concerns present insidiously as we age, not necessarily a crisis but may require ongoing care. You can return to the US for this type of care but you do need local access abroad for care for accidents, strokes, heart attacks etc. which is available. Many countries have much more affordable care than the US and comparable or better quality including much of Europe (especially Spain, France, Germany, Italy and Portugal), Costa Rica, New Zealand and Australia. Some require establishing legal residency but that’s a hurdle that many expats have cleared. I have no plans to leave but I have friends without dual citizenship or relatives that have and they have successfully made the transition. It’s all about expectations.

Even in the 18th century, many lived into their 80’s and even 90’s. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both born before 1750 lived to be 90 and 83, respectively. The main drivers for extending life expectancy over the past 200 years have been clean water and effective sewage and reductions in childhood and maternal mortality, aided by effective vaccines in the 20th century. All of those early deaths skewed the mean life expectancy downward. As a species, we have the genetic endowment to live past 80 and many of us are still kicking ass well past 65.

I’m another bibliophile, also with a large collection but probably not approaching my friends here. There’s no such thing as too many books but I managed to achieve a measure of control by going largely electronic (except for a few collectibles) several years ago. My heirs are avid readers but not book collectors. Alas.

Caveat emptor: his RM handle is pronounced “toxic”. What more do you need?

I could say the same. Saturday I was gay, today I’m straight, not sure what my orientation will be tomorrow. If you and I can transition from heterosexual to bisexual, who is to say we can’t go back. I’m beginning to understand what “Ask me” means. Labels are sometimes not helpful. And whether I’m seeing a very good “paid actor “ or someone who is genuinely into the moment doesn’t much matter to me.

Here’s my reading: He’s reached out to many RM providers asking for additional pics and videos in exchange for 5 star reviews. Probably many reject his offer but enough comply so that he has many solicited and probably many unsolicited reviews posted. This and his outrageous profile are intended to attract attention which seems to be succeeding - he has >56,000 RM profile visits. He seems like an unlikely genuine client and most, if not all of his reviews are probably fake (I couldn’t find link to his reviews). As OP noted, his review number is economically not credible so his motivation is peculiar. @SecretProvider may have communicated with colleagues about similar experiences with him but, more likely, his assertion that Conjurer’s little game is “well known to us” is made as an imperial “us”.

I think that we’re talking about two different scenarios here. Sometimes shit happens despite the best preparation and intentions. Some partners take it in stride and don’t let it ruin the moment. Others are completely undone. The other situation is where someone shows up who has not made an adequate attempt to clean himself. I would find this inexcusable, regardless of what activities were planned.

I like your analogy but I think it’s a little more nuanced. I’m not sure that reality and illusion are binary concepts here. We and the providers are both actors here presenting different versions of ourselves for an hour or more in a play that may include a lot of fantasy but some reality, too. The good ones really do invest themselves in the moment and may truly offer a real BFE that may be genuine. But the spell ends when your time is up, until the next visit. Most of the time, that’s the end of the story but, as others have noted here, sometimes it morphs into a more enduring relationship.

I had an experience awhile ago when I walked in to find a different person than the one in the ad who was clearly better looking. I stayed and had an ok time. Not disappointed but strange. Didn’t get the name and made no attempt to reconnect.

Old age is what we make of it. Somethings get better, some get worse. I like to dwell on the positive side.
